hey guys, Had my GTI tuned at HP-F yesterday.
car is a my09 golf mk5 gti 4 door, with an empire performance 3" down pipe and spyder intake.
final result was 163.4kw atw in 4th gear.
picked up 40kw in the midrange, and a heap more torque right through the rev range.
the guys at hp-f did and amazing job, heaps of instant torque makes it great fun to drive. traction control light is flashing on a regular basis now
i compared hpf to alot of other tuners that mainly use off the shelf tunes and charge the same amount or more, the guys at hpf had my gti on the dyno at 11am until 4pm getting it tuned properly. i go by no two engines are the same, off the shelf tunes are good, but they are not tailored to your individual car, would be a different story if tuning programs were opensource such as romraider for subaru or mitsu. for $795 i think its exceptional value for money.
to date a 40kw gain has cost:
empire performance 3" downpipe $220
spyder intake $200
k&n filter $100
hpf tune $795
total $1315.
i will post up the dyno graph soon, my scanner broke
