  • VARdesign TBE review needed

    Hi everyone

I couldn't seem to find any customer reviews on the new Viezu (VARdesign) hardware in particular the TBE. Up until a couple weeks ago it was still in development so maybe it hasn't hit the market yet?

If you currently have a VARdesing DP, cat-back or TBE installed are you able to give an honest review. The questions I am particularly interested in is your hardware specifics (eg 3" DP to 2.75" or 2.5" or 3" all the way), your setup (intakes, catback, tunes, resonated/non etc) and the all important question (for me anyways)... DRONE? Does it drone under load? at high speeds? constant drone?

Your help is much appreciated as i am currently in the market for a TBE and because i have a Viezu tune, it would only be wise i also look at their accompanying hardware.

    Thanks

Hi mate, I was at the HPX factory and saw the techinicians there, how fussy they're, when testing the exhaust system under the development. I would be very confident in fitting it. As you're already Viezu customer, I believe you get the good discount. Maybe you should get in touch with the HPX Viezu dealer (they do exhausts and more for the performance cars for very long time). He will not all the details about the system.

I don't believe they would accept and were selling the exhaust that has drone.

What model is the TBE for?

      Hi XGUIZT

Which vehicle are you asking in relation to...?

GTi 5 and 6 are launched with full TBE with twin and quad exits, there is no drone - at all - sound amazing - and sure we've got Hot Tuner Specials still on - extended to end of next week with massive launch specials.

If this is the Golf 'R':
The Golf R 2.75-2.5 DP has been in testing for a while and so has the 3". The smaller adds no noise at all over stock. The 3 and 3.5 add a little exhaust noise but nothing obtrusive at all.

The 3" system catback is available on pre-order now with delivery a couple of weeks away. We have normal 3" (loud) and 3" with bi-modal (best of both worlds)

These come with a choice of tips - Titanium, 304ss, Carbon or Billet.

Scirroco R: Our Titanium system is just about ready, the DP's are too. The new rear valances are in the throws of completion. 304ss systems are undergoing final test fits now.

We're going to be lining up some sound testing files etc for these and videos etc

Hope that helps, Please PM or email for further info,

      Cheers

      Simon

Thanks for your feedback Transporter and Simon. Sounds like quality wise it's a tick, price wise (Tuner special) tick.. No drone, perfect!!

Any customers who have the TBE as a daily drive tune in on the noise part? Any feedback is appreciated, or I may end up being the first customer review!!! >D

I drive a MY12 GTI btw,.. Is the TBE ready for this model Simon?

I was the lucky GTI owner that scored the Viezu Tune and DP in a facebook photo comp!

Just as an overall experience. The Tune and the DP are amazing. The service, and customer support provided by BMR and Viezu is great.

Now, about the DP. I use my car as a daily drive. You cannot notice there is anything changed on the car with regards to drone or noise at cruising speeds or in traffic/idle inside the car. However, when you plant your foot, there is a sweeter then stock sound from the front of the car. It is a lower exhaust note, but sounds a lot 'fuller' and complete over the stock exhaust note. Put simply, it is a bit louder under load. But I prefer it this way

            Just a couple of observations:
            1. I have a DSG - The DSG change burble (pop, brap) what ever you want to call it, is noticeably louder. It's actually turned into a loud 'Crackle' with the DP. I also prefer this the way it is now
            2. Turbo spool is much louder.
            3. Whilst standing behind the car when it is idling, there is a more of a 'metal' sound exiting the tailpipes over the stock noise. I'm not fussed with this either way.

Now, just to back my comparisons, I own 2 MK6 GTI's. My DSG with the Viezu tune and DP, and my wife has a Manual that is stock standard. So I have done my comparisons over the past couple of months (obviously without the DSG/Manual comparison)

            Pic of DP fitted:

Has anyone yet installed the VARDesign CAI, VARDesign 3" DP, and is running vMotorsport / vRace?

keen to hear about any impressions of the three mods together...

                thanks

^ you are far to patient. How long have they been saying the intakes and exhausts are "coming later this week" for?!?! Seems like forever.

I don't mind stretching things out just a little (but understand your point). having fun with the few updates I have made to date - vRace tune, and more recently the FIS+ Advanced are keeping me occupied.

I am looking forward to the DP and CAI early next year though ... (and interested in reviews!)

Our final full range of Intakes and exhausts were launched last week on Facebook

Full orders can be taken now. We're waiting on artwork to launch them on here with Xmas specials though.

                          Available:

Golf GTi 5 and 6 full TBE's in 2.75 and 3", twin pipe and quad, 304ss tips or titanium.

Golf R TBE in 2.75 or 3", or 3.5DP to 3" catback bi-modal race system,

Will have specials poster up asap.

But yes - there's been a host of delays - apologies for that. New hardware ranges can be a pain - especially when you're readying thousands of products for launch. And we're not going to have something sent out which isn't what we want so no corners are being cut.

Those of you who have been waiting for ages are also getting special special prices and certainly being looked after

Mind you - everyone can benefit from our specials (our Viezu client get even better pricing) - which if we don't have the artwork today I'll just stick some photos up and Xmas pricing regardless.
