  • VAG COM Coding in Sydney / Ebay VAG COM cable

    hi there,

I have a 2009 tiguan, want to get an extra key and program it myself, and add a 9w7 bluetooth to my red MFD with RCD510.

is anyone around sydney Leichhardt, or Auburn area (or basically 15mins drive around Leichhardt ) has a VAG COM cable and experience in coding tiguan? and willing to give me a introductory lession on the using the VAG COM. I know you can do lot of stuffs with the cable. I just want to see how it work before i buy anything. I will kindly offer a beer at a local pub as a reward and just talk about tiguan. (sounds like a dating ad, but it is not)

I know Tiguan is slight different to normal VW car, so you cannot buy a $20 ebay cable to access vagcom. But has anyone done it before?

PM if you are interested for the beer. lol.

    cheers.

You will not be able to program the key to your Tiguan with VCDS. For that you need the PIN code from the ECU, which VCDS doesn't read.

Happy to help with any VCDS functions however programming a new key/immobiliser is not something you can do with VCDS with cars later than about 2005. You need to go to a dealer or independant mechanic who has access to the VW Erwin system. You can't just read the SKC from the ECU in order to program a new key, as Transporter has already mentioned (this could be done with older cars however not anything recent).

I have the PIN from with my User manual. It is a tag with from the dealer. I guess with that I can program it.
But I have actually see thread showing ppl how to do it. like from ordering blank key, local key smith to cut to programming the remote and transponder. So I thought it is doable.

That thread is in MK4 section somewhere, just go through the pages, it won't be that far back. The thread is about coding the key to MK4, it will not work on the Tiguan.

sounds like the pin for the stereo headunit.

You need the 7digit number. I can do most but I'm not sure about the later ones some models you need access to their system some you can crack. It's easiest just to pop into a friendly dealer
