  • Bluefin Stage 2 Update

Have anyone received an email from Bluefin? Mine says the following...

    Dear Bluefin Customer,

After some extensive further development we are pleased to announce the release of an enhanced Stage 2 remap for your car. It achieves significantly more power and torque, especially in the mid-range, than the earlier Stage 2, as per the following link:

Bluefin engine remapping uses an ECU remap for your diesel or petrol engine and delivers better performance. Engine tuning with ECU chipping for diesel and petrol engines.

Our website specifically mentions the Golf; however, the remap is equally suitable for other models with the same factory software calibrations. Versions are available for manual and DSG transmissions.

If you have fitted the other parts required and would like to upgrade to the Stage 2, the price is £50 including VAT. Please order through our website or by phone on 01280 816781.

If you already have the Stage 2 remap on your car, there is no extra charge for the update; please contact us with your bluefin serial number and we will make the enhanced version available for you to download.

Was reading about this on another forum. It's for Mk6 GTI's only which have the stage 2 software. Gives some good gains apparently (torque gains in particular).

I got this email too. Claims 295bhp and 446NM torque. Mine is currently stage 1, so I need at a minimum a dump pipe. PM'd jmac regarding a dump pipe, so just waiting on a response before I pull the trigger. Would be interested in any feedback from someone who has installed this.

Are you sure its just the dump pipe?
Thought a CAI was also needed?

You are correct a CAI is listed as mandatory. However, I don't want to fit a CAI and I believe most of the hardware power gains will be from the dump pipe. If I have issues then I guess I would need to reconsider a CAI, but first I would try a hi-flow replacement panel filter like the volkswagen racing uk one.

Yea I was actually wondering how necessary the CAI was. I have the Pipercross intake pipe and a panel filter because I wanted it to look stock. Would be interesting to see if anyone else could comment on that....

Apologies for a thread revival, but could someone please advise if this Mk6 GTI Stage 2 bluefin tune would also apply to my 2012 Skoda Octavia vRS TSI manual?

email them again. i never had issues with contact with them. its possible they missed it

there is also the aussie rep Peter James to make contact with. his details are on the superchips website. great guy to deal with!

i did have an issue with the tune. turns out the APR intake i had on the car had a slightly different pipe diameter to the AFM and it caused a misfire/hesitation. stock airbox fixed it right up!

Finally got a reply back from Superchips. Here's what they said:

"The data you are looking at is actually for two totally different engines with different ECU’s.

Your Octavia should have the later engine with a Bosch MED17 ECU so it will respond in a similar manner to the Golf 6 GTI in the 2nd link you have used. The 1st link applies to earlier cars with the older engines & ME9 ECU."

                            FYI I have a 2012 TSI vRS.
