  • Switched from Bluefin to Viezu.

I was running bluefin stage 2+ on my mkv GTI . Never had any problems and certainly not here to bag bluefin, I still think its very good value for money. I just felt it didn't have the punch I was looking for in 3rd or 4th. I'd read similar feedback on the UK forums when it came to stage 2 tunes with bluefin, so I thought it might be worth looking into alternative tunes. The guys in the UK were all raving on about how good the REVO tune was, but unfortunately there's no REVO in WA. Then I started reading some great reviews about Viezu, and as luck would have it, Simon and Greg made the trip West. So, I took the plunge, and now after a couple of tweaks here and there, I have to say that I'm very impressed with the Viezu tune. After the tune had time to adapt, the first thing I noticed was how responsive and smooth the tune was in comparison to the bluefin tune. Really punchy all throughout the rev range, especially in 3rd and 4th! As a bonus, I'm even getting better fuel economy!
So was it worth forking out the extra dosh for another tune, I definitely think so, car feels awesome now!

Good to hear mate. This week i am helping my friend put a downpipe on his Mk5 GTI so that he too can upgrade his existing Viezu tune to take advantage of the new hardware. He already has a new intake.

His GTI goes hard and is smooth as well.

And just to compare, i currently have the Bluefin tune on my manual Golf R. In a rolling "sprint" from say 20kph - 100kph my mates DSG equipped GTi is exactly the same speed as my Golf R - both cars stay exactly neck and neck.

I remember reading a previous thread where you mentioned this. It was one of the comments that motivated me to look seriously at Viezu, so thanks for that!

Thanks for the kind words Grant, his initial tune sure had issues we had to sort out, and given the fact Simon and I got on a plane made that tricky indeed. Thanks for your patience Grant ( and the other WA guys ), that's one of the upsides with Viezu, you can just keep going back to them until it's where you want. Once a dealer sets up over there you boys will all get looked after, and I know Simon handed out a few free V-switches on an already good deal just to sort everything out, and cover you until a dealer is appointed.

I stand behind the quality product Viezu offer, but being custom, and especially with heavily modded cars like Grants, there can be teething problems, hence my suggestion local support is a paramount thing with tunes.

Greg - are there any dyno results for the Viezu tunes yet? There has been lots of talk about it but nothing so far. I've been talking to Simon from Viezu over the past week or so about a tune for my car (to replace my Bluefin) but would like some proof of the claims. I'm also speaking to John from DNA Tuning who has given heaps of info as well.

Within the fortnight, just need to organize the three R's concerned. One guy is a new father, one has recently been returned to stock and is now relearning the motorsport tune, and as I'm paying, trying to get them all in the one afternoon is a mission. Stay "tuned"...

I would like to see some dyno results for some GTI's if there are any getting around.

                  Very enticing news

I too am patiently waiting for Simon's products forthcoming.

Can't wait to see what he's got for Tiguans in general and more importantly, for Western Australian customers.

Greg, my understanding is WA already has an authorized dealer. Has there been changes of late?

                  go Viezu , go !

We're starting the VARdesign build on our own Gti Golf5 so will do controlled stock, vPerf, vRace runs then CAI, TBE, then FMIC and Turbo. Soon it'll need a new DV as the current one is shot, and it'll have a LSD once we put the turbo on.

Also for the mod list is our VARdesign:

Wheels (We wanted to go Golf R size, but can anyone tell me if they'll fit? or do we stick to the Pirelli Edition 18's. Wheels are new to me - lots of learning going on on a personal note when it comes to wheels. I'll talk to our manufacturer too, but if anyone's running 19's on a Gti 5 please let me know.)

multi stage full adjustable bound/rebound height adjustable suspension
our 6 pot fronts (if they'll fit!)) and 4 pot rears big brake upgrade

Carbon: Bonnet, mirrors, engine cover, battery cover, rear hatch and rear wing, carbon front splitter, carbon rear diffuser, possibly side skirts too but I"m undecided.

Also the upper part of the grey plastic rear bumper is going to be body coloured.

A few more carbon bits inside the cabin.

The new development tuning for these has been ongoing for many months to do a full on indirect DSG tune for other dsg's (as we do on the Golf 'R' etc) so that'll be through testing locally more and more then we'll launch that as a service. Essentially these has a massive hesitation between shifts are the load limiters don't like the extra torque being put through - this very unique - think outside the box Viezu awesomeness is going to be available soon and transforms the gearbox. If your tune is putting out sufficient torque, you'll suffer the same problem. We can fix that...

And we do so for free with inclusions in our tuning options.

Any Q's give me a shout,

                      Cheers

                      Simon

I have noticed ok my MKV GTI massive lag from first to second gear, it totally stops doing anything for what feels like ages then changes to second, is this the problem with the DSG that you are talking about?

It doesn't do it in any other gear change though, we'll up shifts anyways.

My down shifts too seem to hesitate before engaging the lower gear, not sure if it meant to do that though.

I can't wait to see the range of products that you will be bringing out and can only hope I am cashed up when they are released.

                          Formula Tech ...

                          Cheers Transporter .....

My next Q? to Viezu is how much time is needed for parts to arrive WA vs. the time eastern coast dealers get their stocks/parts .... and will the price be bumped up due to freight costs????

Like the idea of a Viezu tune BUT Formula Tech seems to be GM / Walkinshaw when I visited their website.....
