Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

OK. So it took me a while to get around to all of this. Now that the car is stage 1 tuned I'm wanting to replace the DV and PCV. I've got the latest revision DV no worries. But I've got some confusion about which PCV revision is the latest for my car.

My understanding is that the latest revision PCV only has one check valve in it making it more sturdy, but because of this the breather pipe also needs to be replaced to account for the single check valve. Is this correct? Now, here is the confusion. According to the dealer, there are two breather pipes; one goes from PCV to oil and one goes from PCV back in to the intake (I assume). Have I understood this correctly? If so, which breather pipe do I need to replace? Or do I need to do both?

The part numbers I've been given from my dealer for the lastest revision PCV are as follows:
    PCV - 06F 129 101 N
    Gasket - 06F 103 483 E
    Breather Pipe - 06F 103 235
    2nd pipe - 06F 103 221E

I've referred to this site a bit - PCV valve failure - Mkvgtiwiki - the problem is that the part numbers at the bottom of the page are outdated and American (which apparently are different parts to ours).

Jmac, Guy_H or anyone else in the know, are you able to help me here? Cheers
