Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Buying another ECU is the easy part. you then have to have it coded to the car to make the car mobile again.

This is pretty much a VW only job, so, guess who will be aware that the ECU has been replaced.

TBH When was the last time you heard of a known tuners software causing an engine to expire?

If you are prepared to do stage tuning during warranty periods, you just have to be prepared to suffer any and all warranty issues yourself.

With the password lockout and stock program loaded, i don't think there's any way they could tell it was chipped unless they started analyzing boost pressures and other engine statistics through vag com, but they wouldn't bother unless there's a means to

Does anyone know if the ecu keeps a log of boost pressures?

Was also advised of dealers to take it to get serviced where there not so concerned with chipping.
