I notice from your site you use Dimsport Genius and RACE EVO. I had a Race emulator many years ago, was a top bit of kit. Much better that the OLS300 that I use now. Dim sport have been very good at keeping up with the TriCore tuner protect controllers. I use Frieling tool and BS Crossfire with good old OLS. I have been doing this since 1985-86 things have moved on so much. Even in the last 2 years the new MSV80.## DME and MED/EDC17.## are getting harder and harder to tune (and expensive) Just buying the checksums is like a home loan repayment!!

Great to see BPS getting into the VW tuning scene, I think James has been playing with C63s a little too much
I've sent many of my customers here on the Gold Coast up to James @ BPS for their tunes/engine work. I've heard nothing but brilliant reviews about his service and tuning capabilities. James is definitely a person who knows what he is talking about, I would be comfortable letting him work on any of my vehicles.

Might have to give you a call mate, my GTI is dying for a tune

Someone pick an AWD dyno somewhere, and lets get some different cars, side by side on the dyno. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to see that. We can get plenty of R's with different mods to attend-

Also we should get an independent forum member to do some data logs for comparison, lets see who is making best use of available fuel, what their EGT's are like, most importantly, lets see some torque curve comparisons!

        You up for it James?
That sounds awesome, except the only real way to compare tunes is to take someones car and flash all the different programs on and sees who makes the best power and compare those curves

Because as these custom coders say each car can be different, so why not rule this out and use the same car for all the dyno runs

That can be easily done as well if someone will bring a stock car.

And the tune with the best power gets put in the car but funded by the other tuners

That's if you are all that confident that YOUR companies tune is the best, then play it like men and may the best man win!

All jokes aside, what a sensational offer from Guy and the other lot willing to take him up on it. Great stuff lads.

My opinion, due to heat soak on a car which could rob up to 10kws on a car, I reckon just have at least one car for each tuners spec.

That is, at least a stock vs STG 1 each.

This is fantastic. And we might need an internet connection.. That is fine! Just show us the tunes compared fairly on shoot out mode!!

                  I'm keen for this!

The problem with that is we don't know if the tuner has put race fuel in, if the tuner is running an HPFP etc..

I'd want one stock car i.e. YOURS REXman and everyone flash their tunes on, best performing tune gets to stay on your car, you don't spend a cent on the tune, but you get the most powerful flash for free as a thank you for lending your car!

I forgive you mate. No I don't work for them I am just a customer that is happy with what I got and how much I paid for it. I just thought I would post on here to help others on the lookout for tuning options for VW Golf R.

Thats why you include the data logging, race fuel, fuel rail pressure would be detected in seconds. I'm sure you could trust the owners of the cars to be honest? The raw data is also given (logs & dyno raw files) so the owners can draw up their own comparisons.

In the past, you see a lot of differences in the timing pull & projected EGT's

The days we have done previously included all that data, as well as starting intake temps (and finishing) to try to make sure each car started on the same level, and how quick it could be effected by heatsoak.

I have spoken with BPS this afternoon and will be flashing my car back from the APR tune and leaving it with James for the week. I will be sure to post comparative results as I will be doing APR current Vs his tune.

This sounds very interesting.. same car and everything! And completed results a day or 2 apart so we dont have disadvantages with heat.

                            Nice going Jimjaroo

Tell me about it but Like you guys we have found you have to use a few products to get the job done properly and we use OLS as well for the more intricate work like RS4 injectors swaps which the other stuff can't do perfectly. Anyway I'll be keen to see how the R goes vs the ones we are doing, to me the stock FMIC is not helping timing top end at all. I can see from your dyno runs you use the dynodynamics properly too. Proper shootout mode and proper Inlet temps - all good

                              Cheers

Why would you do that? I would have thought that one of the reasons for doing this would be to showcase the difference between fully customised tunes vs off the shelf ones.

You just need to clearly list which category each tune belongs in.
