Calm down boys, no ones suggesting this issues was caused by the APR software at all.

Update: The cars currently at German Auto, they've been really good, and made the time to look at it today. Unfortunately no resolution as yet.

      UPDATE

Got the car back today, and so far I think it's all good (again stupid traffic meant I didn't really get a chance to open it up, but certainly can feel something )

The problem it turns out was nothing to do with the car at all. They're not sure what happened, but something went wrong with the original flash. To start with they couldn't even get boost readings from vagcom due to instability issues.

So it's really just been reflashed again (first back to stock, then to APR), and everything reads good now.

So will give it a proper go tonight

Thanks for all the help, a Vagcom cable is def on my list of things 2 buy now (was on the list b4, but has now been moved to the top)!

chowi, Good to see you got it sorted, it would appear though that there was a issue with the APR software......

Any hardware that is below par, will come to the surface pretty soon after flashing an ECU.

Sparkplugs, coilpacks DVs etc need to be working 100%.

No there was not, it was actually the flash procedure & the switching encryption which is now sorted.

Once the checks were carried out, it was a simple fix.

Glad its all good now Chowie.

Went for a bit of a drive last night, and definitely a big difference!!! . Way more low down torque, the surge comes on from about 2200 rpm now.

So all good, noticed the clubs organising a Dyno day in SA, so will have to come along and see exactly what I’m getting now.

Is that not part of the APR software download?

The car was OK when it went in for a reflash and not when it came out,

No, its a process error not a software error. IMO it is something the APR dealer should have checked before releasing the car.

Its also better IMO if you don't rush them when having your car chipped as this could be the result ..... skipping a step when you are in a hurry (or being hurried) is easy.

Reflashing an ECU is something that a professional service provider should never hurry - how can you hurry it anyway? Pull the cable before it's finished?

Poor form from the dealer. Would the same dealer forget to put brake pads in if you were hurrying them along? Or leave the sump plug untightened.....

Flashing a car usually involves pre and post flash checks. It also involves the obligatory "take the car for a spin round the block and tell us what you think" Never met someone that comes back without a huge grin on their face. If they werent impressed then ud know something was wrong!

It would be possible to skip those checks. But as you say no point rushing. Slow and steady wins the race!

Please out of courtesy don't answer any APR related issues as the APR distributor will comment themselves, thus making this forum their Q and A session.

Simple as this reflash to the original software and then we will see. No comment on the tune here not my place not my tune , plenty of "experts" will do that for us here. reflash to standard and run the car , log it and see whats going on, have it smoke tested and see if there is any leaks, well worth it. I have to agree with Tim here, most tuners will run the car standard and at least check if there is any underlying stuff going on. I wouldnt tune a car without at least doing a "basic" run, some stuff you just wont see. I tuned mines and never got out of the driveway, found the MAF was duff, was probably happy with the standard set up but once it got zapped it wasnt a happy chappie. Anyway back to the topic, with Superchips i pre tune log whether it be a Benz, Beema or a Vag product i want to see if the customer is going to have " possible dramas". Having said that ive had a TT with all 4 coil packs go one after another only after tune with no pre tune worries, fitted 4 new coils and has been happy with tune and even went to the extreme of fitting a mega Blueflame exhaust 12 mnths ago. So " experts" leave it to the experts please or continue to hurt your finger tips posting same old same old.
No bagging of tuners here whatsoever as i would be foolish to do so, only stating facts, i would rather work with you than against you for the record.
                              Cheers
