well the toyota runs one with that charger...... but might be able to get away with it. Still got the issue with the changing of the fuel and ignition stuff to handle boost.

yeah like that pic, ,you can put the bov after the intercooler. or maybe even before it . and it will still be under boost when the throttle shuts.

Are you sure its from a 4agze motor? that looks like the smaller 300cc AISIN from a subaru vivio. check for dimensions hereTDI mk1 on the road!!

Don't these things usually have an electric clutch?
You could wire it to turn off the blower when the throttle's closed or turn it on at full throttle.
The Jaycar HEI kit supports boost retard and can switch between two advance profiles from a switch on the dash.

the sc12 and sc14 from the toyota have the electric clutch.
Only problem is that i suspect that the charger that stu has is neither of these and infact an amr300 (which does not have a clutch) therefore a pressure bleed at closed throttle would be needed.

Yo thestu, very interesting idea here. I'm doing pretty much the same thing to my b1 passat. same type of supercharger but mine has the clutch on it. Not using the k-jet tronic system either. Just going to blow it through a dcoe. I'd like to discuss more indepth how your mounting it and what your doing with your crank pulley. I have an ADZ 1.8L in my beast so i'm think about running the stock belt system for that motor or to do something similar to you. Hope to hear from you, feel free to ask some forced induction questions, i know a bit about it as a mechanic.

6 PSI should be OK without a cooler.. From what i've heard those puffers will do about 12 PSI before the bearings decide that they've had enough... Really, it just depends on how much over drive you're game to give it!

hmmmmm, so if i were to try this with a carb setup i could just go ,
Carb --> S/C --> intake manifold/motor
Right?
with a setup like this i wouldnt be able to have a IC due to the fuel being put in the mix before its heated in the S/C. Also there would be no way i could run a blow off.
So who has done/seen a setup like this work well?
Im expecting to see alot more supercharged Mk1's after this thread is done.~~~~____~~~~~~~~~_\_____

ok so i can't find ant numbers on the sc!!! i think its an amr300 but if it is then there is no point using it!! because it doesn't put out enough to even wink at! so if its not i might get a harop supercharger!!"The Stu likes this"
