      • Guess what....

I actually did something on the goof today! Woo go me.

I finally got around to putting the side bumper clips on that i modified. I've cut the tabs off the back that are used to push through the body and lock in so that i could urathane them onto the guard. Because my golf is a 77 it originally came with chrome bumpers, so no holes.

I had urethane in mind, but i went to auto one to ask the guys what would be best to use. They said "do you ever want to get them back off?" and i said no. So they got the good stuff and said use that, it'll pull the paint off before it lets go.

Here's some pics. Everybody likes pics.

Trestles can be used for anything...

The rear bumper doesn't need the clips so i won't be fitting the back ones.

                    Hahaha screw you guys.

I'm trying to save some cash at the moment and i've been busy. There's a few small things i can do but i need an injection of motivation.

And yeah yeah the thought of starting the engine when i've finished it should be motivation enough i know, but it isn't.

It's starting to warm up again and it's looking like i might have a few free weekends soon so i'll get stuck in, clean the engine bay up, fit the handbrake cables etc.

My head still isn't finished. I dropped the 392 block off to andy to get bored earlier in the week and he said he was going to get into my head and finish it off this week.. But who knows...

Haha don't count your chickens guys. I don't know how fast it'll be yet. But thanks for the support!

I'm probably getting cams next month. While the folks are in the states. I'm going to purchase them from TT and send them to Rick in san marcos. Then Dad can pick em up while he's there and bring them home with him.

Pulls like a train to 9k. Yeah you heard me.

And yes, they will be TT 276's to start with. And if i think they aren't good enough, i'll go the hydraulic 288's. But with all the work done to the head, bigger valves, etc etc.. 276's will be 1500rpm idle material i'd say.

Like i said to tim months ago though, it's much easier to go a bit soft on the cams to start with, and get it tuned and running, and then opt for a bit more agressive later on if i feel there would be a benefit.
