      Thanks mate, but..

Too late for that. Brian's already cut a big hole in it! haha. The firewall was rooted around the hole, so one of those little repair panels wouldn't have been enough.

Here's where we're up to.. Mostly Brian.. I just drilled the hole. Haha.

Haha.. Yeah that's what the car looks like. Cheers man.

Well, after some lunch I filed the clutch cable hole up and got it all sweet, then Brian worked his magic again..

So now it's double thickness 1.5mm (3mm total). It should be a hell of a lot stronger. I don't think i'll have a problem wit it now..

Tomorrow he'll fix the other couple of spots up, then it's time for me to sand blast the bay, drag my mate's TIG 'round and start seam welding..

                  • Have you bought a short shift kit Preeny?

                    • Bought one? Nah. I'll do my own.

It has been modified already, though..

Also going to look at making a rose joint linkage kit.

                      • I welded up a heap of the holes in the bay today. Some that were there already, others that I put in it with the sheet metal drill. Haha.

No pics, but it all ended up pretty good. Really wishing I had a 0.6 MIG, though.

Now, to borrow that Bag Blaster.....

                          • You replace the pins and bushes with rose joints and bolts. Gets rid of the clearance.. And removes play in the shifter.

                              • Today was the day of the blasting.. Pity it was so hot, really..

                                Loading up..

Then we went 'round to Steve's old man's panel shop, unloaded and got sorted out..

                                Got the gear ready...

                                (Safety first..)

But, as it happens.. The air lines at the shop weren't large enough and couldn't supply enough volume.. So we packed up and went 'round to Steve's work..
