  • Yep 220kw is 295hp. I think i'd be running around 280bhp at the flywheel as it seems the mk2 driveline robs around 30hp from the engine.
You are right, the tuner ran out of injector capacity so couldn't go any further and he had to adjust the timing back a bit to be safe..
I'm still pretty vague with the tuning side of things, but yeah a bigger set of injectors would take it up a notch, and obviously a huge hairdryer would do wonders.

When the engagement party is over this weekend i'll put the pics together. I started rolling the front guards up on Monday and i'm ready to put on the early small bumper arches and sill blacking tape.

I got new tyres yesterday too. TOYO Proxes4. Havent really pushed them yet...

          • Spsose its time for an update.
Not much going on really, just enjoying the car
Here's a pic of the VVt harness wired back up for the haltech. I wrapped it in some heatshield as it was melting!

The next problem to address is this:

As you can see, its really close and there's only so much i can file off the master cylinder... When the engine rocks back it just slightly rubs which isnt too bad, but when i turn hard left and the engine wobbles over the bumps the timing sprocket kisses the master cyl pretty hard and its obviously grinding away!!!!!!

I have a full set of rear Vibra-Technics mounts ready to go in next week to stop the movement and once i file a bit more off the mast cylinder I hope it should be enough.

            More pics soon.

Apart from that I've been removing big bumper arches and sill covers, and just doing a few little freshen ups on interior trim bits and clips etc.

            Cheers

              • **** Wade that is not a happy looking scenario, let us know how the mounts go other wise i can put the pulley on the mill and machine it down a couple of thou to get clearance which won't effect the timing belt.

                  • Well, I got these put in during the week...

There is virtually no movement in the engine now and it feels much more responsive, but jeez the cabin vibrates now!! The best bit is I now have heaps more clearance from the timing gear to the master cylinder, so no more worries there!!

I also had a boost cut issue at around 4000rpm which i got adjusted on the laptop this morning. Basically, the boost was coming in too suddenly and aggressively so we just tuned the boost to come in a little more gradually. The power delivery is all still there, but its much smoother and drivable now.

I'm really happy with it. The car is properly sorted, running great and from now on its basically an ongoing test to see how the clutch and gearbox last.

So the next jobs are cosmetic stuff, and welding a battery plate to secure the battery properly in the boot.

I'm gonna go on a little track run soon and post up some vids for y'all

                    Cheers

You'll probably find that if you pick the idle up to around 1km RPM, you can get rid of the vibration. The mounts will soften a bit after some driving time, though

                          • Yea totally.
There is the 'M' vibra-tech mounts, and the super hard 'MX' for racing. These are the MX.

Here's a (bad) photo of the final dyno plot for proof!!

And also got this genuine old stock knob. I'll save it for a special occasion. Other little bits ive replaced are just things like new pedal rubbers and new sun visor clips etc. Got a new dash fascia coming too from spyda. That outta stop a few rattles!

                              • Got some more pics.

Some shots of the vibra-technics rear eng and gearbox mounts in.

They obviously restrict almost all engine movement so that timing gear wont hit anymore, but they also make the engine sit a little higher too, which is even better for clearance...
