As mentioned, the car feels a bazillion times better with the vibra-tech front mount in. Everthing feels tight and strong and much more responsive.
The brakes are also 100% better with the greenstuffs on the front, although they do make a buttload of dust and squeal a bit when cold.
I realised they were thicker because I had standard GL pads in before and the VR6 pads are about 4mm thicker, which caused the bolts of the RS001's to foul on the now stretched out calipers.
Nothing the grinder couldn't fix!!!
Also finally got a cover off ebay. Nice finishing touch
I also had an enlightening and pretty successful morning on the dyno today too!!! Pics and news bulletin to come!
Cheers

Righto, so yesterday was the first day back on the dyno since I put in the 044 fuel pump, and it looks like it paid dividends!!!! So, after all that, it looks like some of you were right, and it was a fuel flow and/or pressure thing. HOORAY!
Pics for kicks;
So this is how we did the first power run. I disconnected the VR6 in tank pump (now acting as a lift pump) and had the 044 sucking straight outta the tank...
And the result was this. It actually OVERFUELLED now!
Once reconnected the lift pump it was basically the same, if not a bit smoother, so there was never any restriction thru there.
Plot readouts to come...

Here's the plot readout. You can see where the power was on the old lean mix run on the faint lines. It made about 235hp at the wheels before, but now its over rich and peaks at about 205hp at the wheels. At least its safe to run on boost till it gets tuned properly in the new year! Sure beats driving around with 180hp and only wastegate boost!!!!
You can really feel the power dip when driving too.
Then we wired in the thermofan to the ECU, but we couldn't figure out how to set it in the retarded easimap software to actually come ON when it hit 70 degrees!
We'll have another chat with the QPEng guys and get them them to send a revised base map while they're at it.
So thats about it till next year. I'm headin to Melbs & Tassie over xmas/ny so be nice to have a rest!
Not much dude.
I emailed the latest dyno plot to qpeng and they've emailed back a revised base map. Just gotta find time/money to get back to the tuners. I also desperately need new tyres!!!

A few things have been bubbling away since the last post guys.
Long story short, Qpeng sent a revised map to counter the overfuelling which suddenly started after installing the 044 fuel pump.
We loaded it onto the ECU and guess what?! It went back to behaving just like it was in the beginning - lean as 5h!t!
So then we thought 'oh well we'll reload the setting from when I came in this morning and just manually tune it out'. Well, then that map wouldn't load back up onto the ECU.
Not only that, but the thermofan won't bloody run either. It's wired up and runs, but when you set it up through the ECU it just never comes on - even in 'continuous test mode'. FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
So. Dave at R P W (my tuner) reckons we can use a haltech E6X, Platinum sport 500 or Platinum Sport 1000.
I'm looking at somewhere between $2000 - $2700 installed and tuned. The E6X will basically plug straight into the mbe/QPEng harness plug, but its no longer in production, and if i use the Sport 1000 there's just a few wiring pin changes and i can actually run the sequential injection and variable valve timing too, which is not possible with the qpeng setup or the E6X.
If i can get some kind of refund from qpeng for the ecu I might go the sport 1000....
hmmmm well wade i happen to have a brand new Haltech E6X in the box in my shed with a full harness, how much are you looking to pay for one? I reckon I could sell it to you quite a bit cheaper than the 2K for a newer version? Let me know if your keen.
