I'll just go without high beam. Dont use it much anyway!!
Hey dorian, did you need to shave metal off your master cylinder to stop the engine banging into it?

I do, but I dont really trust the quality of those GSF items? I can move it a little by hand if i give it a good solid wrestle!

        • Thought i'd better give a little update. Nothing has happened since i've been away and as a result, I've told Joe to put in the wheel bearings and KW's and I'll come and tow it home to finish it myself. Pretty pissed off really that its not done.
Its also been a struggle financially to keep buying parts....

                • Wade, you have this covered yourself mate. You might be short of time but like Gareth says, it'll be more satisfying doing it yourself.

                  • This has been a great thread to read. Really inspirational with all the highs and lows, but you kept going. I hope one day I can open this thread and see a youtube vid of you driving it around, that would be nuts!

Nearly there mate. I have a couple of brand new single lamp grilles like the one in that pic.
Send me your address and I'll send you one to help out a dubber and finish the project.
It wont effect your full beam, the outer lamps do all of that, the others are simply extra spotties.

                        • Good work mate!

Maybe get a crazy job and work like 10 hours a day for a month and pay of the Mk2.

I did a similar thing when I needed to get my Mk3 rego'd etc.

                            • Spoke to Joe yesterday. He's got the front suspension in and hubs, new wheel bearings, front brakes, and steering all assembled. Just gotta put the rear KW's in and roll it out & tow it home!

Also got my brand new 1360mm carbie throttle cable in the post yesterday straight from the vw classic parts guys in wolfsburg! It cost about $90 and took 3 days!

Joe slammed it for the pics but its obviously not staying that low - all the time.
