I'm actually a Melbourne boy originally, but moved over here a wee while ago now. I'm still back in Melbourne regularly though; yet to spot a sweet dub though!
I gotta say for a small country NZ has actually got a pretty sweet VW scene, it's really taken off in the past couple of years especially with everyone stepping up their game. I think the fact we developed a show similar to some of the big ones overseas has helped everyone lift their game.

Yea for sure Golfman! Are you on Vask? Whenever you are coming post up that you're over for the weekend or whatever and are keen to catch up with whoever is around. No doubt we can pull together a bit of an impromptu meet up!

For anyone who is familiar with the Mk4 R32 turbo 4 motion Bora/Jetta Coupe, that was built John, the same guy that helped build this. He's a wizz

            I love Built threads.

Congrats on the build dude, car looks really great. I didn't think I was going to like the mk 4 dash, but with the seats and interior and everything, it looks sweet.

Love the vento front and shaved from bumper, will look great with black IC hoses.

I reckon it's a spot on conversion for a mk 3. Enough power to make it really fun to drive, but nothing too outrageous that you can't daily it.

What are the specs on the wheels?
            17x8...?

Sounds good to me chief! Same applies to you, when you're in Melbourne next, hit me up and I'll get a few of the boys together for some food etc. There's plenty of sweet dub's in Melbourne, just got to know where to look

This conversion really is all kinds of awesome!

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

                            Haha cheers

Man I am seriously seriously impressed with the fuel economy in this thing, it's actually nuts! Around town I'm pulling like 750km out of a tank. Last weekend I took the car out for it's first proper open road trip as I was following the WRC around, on one of the days I clocked up 570km, and the needle had only just slipped below 1/2 way, so well on the way to 1000km+. Nuts!!

I'm well impressed with how drivable it is too, pretty impressive torque, beats the ABF (my previous car) hand over fist. 5th gear can pull 70-130km pretty quickly and comfortably, downshifts on the open road are rare

Only just seen this thread for the first time, very impressive stuff! I've always wondered what a 1.8t in a mk3 would be like. Looks like its a good match!

Gotta say the mk4 dash + interior really sets it off too. Great stuff
