  • Looking very very nice.

I'd happily give that some caressing with a polisher and a coat of wax. :p

        • Update of things left to do:
          - clips for lower chrome trim between front and rear wheel wells ordering
          - clips to body colour trim over rear windows (hockey stick trim some people call it) these are unobtainium so looking at an alternative available at rare spares this week
          - idiot sent me wrong soft chrome for windscreens it seems to be different between golfs and sciroccos anyone on here know where I can find the trim? It seems to be much thicker than the one used on golfs
          - the passenger door rear window guide/ channel got mangled in the accident and haven't been able to find a new one we are going to try recycle the old one but if anyone has an idea where to get a new one would be really helpful
          - final polish and rectification of paintwork

Also we started the car last week!!! Seemed to run great no issues. First stop will be the exhaust shop after leaving the panel shop!

Those clips, I have been right thru rarespares, pretty much usless. Closest was something of a Peugeot car , uncertain to the model . the mounting pin was way smaller than the VW hole in the body. You could drill smaller holes but best bet is to keep the ones you took of and use some industrial adhesive ( sikaflex etc )

Early rocc's had the ali extrusion piece, not the ali coated plastic junk...that came in the later cars.

Post / text a pic of the door piece, specifically the ends as there are some minor differences between early to late.

Good to hear the engine fired right up, wont be long now before its rollin
              Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

              Cheers,
              Grant...

                  • Hey guys it's pretty much been at the same point for the last few months I need to take some clips to the shop for the guys to fit some final chrome trim, need to polish up front and rear windscreen ally trims, and fit window guide to passenger door. From there it's pretty much done, the shop needs to do their final polish etc.

Also working on getting some chrome peeper mirrors retrofitted similar to Alex G and with his assistance.

January, the shop is pretty much shut so I'm waiting on the guys to reopen so I can bust their balls.

                              • Minor but significant update so its pretty much DONE!

                                couple of tiny things to do;
                                - see if we can salvage the window guide from the original prang
                                - fit last pieces of chrome trim pieces between front and rear wheel arches

Walked in to be shocked that the guys had managed to fit the soft chrome to the front and rear windscreens which saves me pulling off the painted trims, polishing etc f*** yes!

Will post some teaser chrome shots but not long now...
