Very nice. You're as bad as me.. Fitting the carbies and taking pics before you even have cams (or A cam in your case) in it.. Haha

Haha. The carbs are a mock fit so I could work out the linkage setup

Does the mallory ignition require a crank angle input? Is it easytoset up ?

Nah doesn't need crank angle info. It's the same kind of system as the MSD 6A systems. Fairly easy to instal, instal instructions can be found on the net. Adaptable to many ignition systems. I've done away with points and condenser and have magnetic pickup/electric.

In saying that I have yet to run the engine so I havnt been able to play or test with the Mallory
              system yet haha

This is so cool. Love the car, mate and you're doing a fantastic job. I had no idea these were RWD until I saw your engine bay shot!

Thanks mate. The old passat are FWD though. North south configuration. Like the fwd Audi's and later passats.

That's just to throw you off - these old audi/passat drivelines are designed to confuse! Sneaky fwd!

The passat has clocked up 150 total km so far on the new engine.

Stumbles and hesitates a bit on acceleration under 3000 rpm. Could be incorrect idle jet size or pump jet. Something to fine tune and sort out. The 2.0L has too much torque for the standard passat clutch so it slips. Ordered a Spec stage 3 clutch and they sent me a stage 3+ haha. Kit turned up in the mail today. Hopefully ill have time to fit it over the weekend.

                              Update.

Well, about a month ago the original exhaust on the passat blew clean off at a joint It was a good reason for me to pull my finger out and get started on a decent size system.

I had an exhaust system at home from a TE Mitsubishi and a late model Lancer sitting at home that I took from work. They both have plenty of great mandrel bends, good size, flex joints and stainless tubes, resonators.

I ended up using bends from both systems, a resonator from the Lancer and the flex tube and O2 sensor port form the Magna. I am now waiting on my Borla muffler to come form the US and I can finally finish it off

Here is todays progress after running out of mig wire last weekend :S

Because the 2.0L engine is 10mm + taller I had to extend the two down pipes to clear the body.

Hopefully my adjustable fuel pressure regulator will turn up next week so I can plumb that in with the new fuel pump
