good to see there are no fittment issues, time to change my 2.5" dp.
when it steps down from 3" does it go 2.5" then 2.25"?
just thinking if i should get a 3" or 2.5" cat if i'm to run 2.5" exhaust and where i would cut the pipe.
Are you planning to get a cat?
I actually have a third on the way now (fark !!) Touareg next me thinks. With the new child restraint laws now in place here I have to find the narrowest seats available in order to fit 3 across.
I'm going to try and use one of my spare 3" metal cats its all depends on where it steps down and to what size. I have a whole spare mid section complete with race cat & resonator so if there's enough clearance I'll get it all put on.
there isnt much room from the step downs to the existing pipe, which then goes over that mount/support bar ,but you could remove the flanges and some material and put a 3" cat in there,i am toying with removing the first resonator and putting the cat there.

Thats what I'm hoping, you lose the 2nd O2 sensor hole of course but I have a spare one lying around that hopefully would fit between the dump flange and it flex joint. Those are very helpful pics too btw
parso, we don't need the post cat o2 sensor hole, you'd block that one off anyway, thats for dbw cars.
i'm thinking of cutting the pipe where it steps down to 2.5", weld a 2.5 cat in then a resonator and then run over the rear beam. I just can't picture how far this dp comes to the turn? Alex, would it be similar length to this?
im also not sure if it would be good to place the cat too far off it's original position, doesn't it need to heat up to certain temp?

you would need to go up against the flex with a 3"cat i would think similar to the above picture( unless a short cat can be sourced??)
am unsure about temps re cat that may have an affect on the relocation plans of mine??

Headunit looks sweet bro. You can have the bits to cover the gaps at the sides out of my audi if you need em.

cat needs to get nice and hot. even if you put it quite a ways back it will still likely get hot enough, but it will take a fair bit longer to come up to working temp.

I mean the distance from the turbo doesn't matter really, it does for the cats operation but not really for legals. Did you see mine there's heaps of room for both a resonator and cat.
