Yeh, you're right Matt, the 1,8 came out in the '82 model. Largest engine in the Scirocco 1 was 1,7. But the RTA wouldn't know the difference.

Daily drivable or more show car style???
The car will be finished with blacked out trim ( ala US 'S' style) instead of the chrome, paint will be same as the test painted guard in the image below.

Main purpose of the car will be as a regular driver and to have some low level motoring event fun in...

Spent Sunday stripping out the rest of the interior, wiring, carpet, sound deadening etc, floor was in reasonable shape in respect to panel damage, and in good shape with little rust inside..

Hopefully will get the engine out early this week, then to fab up a rotisserie and get into the underside...

Was suprised at the lack of rot around the front screen frame...excepting the wiper motor hole...
      Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

      Cheers,
      Grant...

Grant, you look as grey as me, must have something to do with owning Scirocco's and trying to find parts to keep them together.

Well not much happened over the weekend, Kids to cart around, house to clean not to mention working Saturday...

However did manage to remove the engine and the pesky front guard that had been "welded" on ... thanks previous owner...

Will need to do some work with the front panel to get it upto an acceptable standard..

Still have the exhaust system to remove yet, "all welded from the downpipe to the tailpipe..." good stuff exhaust fitter...

Looking for some steel to fab up a rotisserie this weekend, time allowing...
