Yep! Also discovered that the tiny oil seal in the tip of the input shaft is $33 OEM from VW. It's only 14mm x 4mm

The clutch pushrod for a 5 speed is $69

Also learnt that I should have inspected the pushrod better before I put the box in the car. It was pitted from rust and took out the new seal I installed thus destroying the clutch.

ok ok well it looks like you boys have showed me the way ah jesus more costs!! how what is normally cheaper a 02a or 02O Diesel? either way if i get an o2a it means more options clutch wise, can u convert a vr6 gear box to cable? AH brain overload, first things first where can you buy clutches and pressure plates from in AUS i'm chasing a performance fully organic disc and a heavy duty pressure plate. But again this depends on the gear box i assume

Don't know if i've chimed in a bit late, but VR6 box wont bolt onto a 4cyl.
I'll admit i haven't put it all together and tested it yet, but i'll be running the 02A with the standard sachs VR6 clutch. As as long as you use the 228mm flywheel it works afaik.
              That should handle 250-270bhp
              Hope that helps

Thats right, you need a cupra or passat box.
They look the same as VR6 boxes, but the bell housings are different.
