Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

you will need a QR Clubman licence (daily or yearly) and a timing beacon (rent for the day or buy one).
and one highly important thing: fresh high temp brake fluid like penrite racing brake fluid will.make your day more enjoyable. and enough meat on the brake pads too.

And we're doing the morning session. Ask us plenty of questions. Did you get the tyre scrubbing sorted?

Do you know what is involved in getting a clubman license please?
Also any experience with standard Brembo pads, pretty much like new but have experienced brake fade at HL so want to upgrade. Ordering red stuff today but not sure they will be here / bedded in in time...
Brake fluid change would bet hurt too, I have Penrith super dot 4 at the moment, any suggested suppliers for the race stuff?
Thanks again

the penrite super dot 4 is good street and can last for 2 yrs like oem but not enough for track.
this is better
Penrite RBF600 Dot 4 Racing Brake Fluid 500mL
get 2 x 500ml bottles and do full flush and clear all bubbles and do an abs pump cycle if you have a vagcom cable.
also available at repco and autobarn (but more expensive).
other options cost more, e.g. motul rbf600.
the licence is basically filling in a form at the lakeside office and show your qld licence, pay up and done [emoji1]

Don't let Nat scare you. I ran Penrite Super on a mostly stock setup at Time Attack for a while and didn't have any serious issues. The main thing is being conscious of the pedal underneath you--if it becomes spongey, it's a sign that your fluid is getting to the point that it's had enough for the day.Click or tap --> MY13 CW Golf R | Manual | ACC (deleted) | 19" Black Talladegas (sold) | Satnav-Dynaudio
