Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

How could I forget Rob and his CRX. I think the 57.43 is achievable.

Will be interesting to see if he runs at QR again after his latest work. I'm following it on FB, supercharging the CRX.

Makes you realize the development that goes into those top tier cars hey. 3 secs on a 2.5km odd km circuit is huge. Power, handling and brakes only gets you so far.

Aero, weight reduction and big testicles will get me 3 secs ... Well at least 1 second

So I guess you'll be focusing on aero and weight cos those seats of yours won't accommodate the testicles, haha

That's true. I won't go into detail but add to that a tightly done up 6 point harness.

It really comes down to budget and I've still got to get to work on Monday. I doubt Rob drives to work in the Mighty Mouse lol

Knew you'd arrive once we started talking testicles.

                Yup, racing before weddings.

in some culture, a Bull's testicles soup they say is beneficial... may be worth a try for lap times?

                      • so today was another session of attacking time...

did not do any PB as i went easy on the eastern loop. there was an oil spill from a mx5 on the eastern loop section of the track in the session prior to mine. i had a small slip moment on the first lap, so subsequently i went easy.

here are of the best times of the day:

before track, oil level just under max, after 30 hot laps, still just under max. conclusion: no oil use

                        Current mods:
                        - Bluefin Stg 1 + GFB DV
                        - H&R sport springs + Superpro 24mm RSB + Ground Control front camber mounts + OEM DCC in sport mode

                        - Advan AD08R 235 40 18 on Rays VR-G2 18x8 +50
                        - Front QFM A1RM brake pads and Penrite racing brake fluid, with the rest brake components all stock
