Online entry forms will be up as soon as I finish putting them together... the joys of wearing many hats means I'm a little flat out at the moment. I'm in the middle of moving Offices AND moving Houses as well, strangely I can't seem to find anything
That said I'm in, can't wait to have some more fun around Wakefield Park
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
Thanks, I didn't read it right, the penny has just dropped, need rope or belt or pins
Ok, I should be able to arrange some sort of secondary bonnet restraint
Are there any simple kits for this? I'll hit google to get ideas
2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels
Maybe someone can contact the cams scrutineer about the bonnet release - (or if someone passes me the details, I can get it confirmed) - Modern cars with original un-modified hoods & locking mechanisms are exempt from this "extra restraint" as they are already fitted with a factory two stage system:
1. be fitted with two separate fasteners on any bonnet or other panel where the leading edge can be raised.The
fastening systems shall meet the following requirements:
(a) to be deemed separate, a fastening system shall continue to function if the second system is removed inits
entirety;
(b) they shall be of adequate strength and limited extensibility;
(c) they shall simultaneously hold the bonnet or panel closed or as an alternative for speed events only, one
fastening system shal lhold the bonnet or panel closed and its release shall allow the bonnet or panel to be
raised to provide access to a second fastening system fitted within the vehicle.The second fastening system
shall prevent the bonnet or panel from being raised more than 150mm from the fully closed position. In a speed event, a road registered series production car fitted with an unmodified original equipment two stage fastening system shall be exempt from these requirements;
For sprint days, this has been accepted for some time. If you have a fiberglass bonnet or similar, you must comply with the two stage thing.
The bonnet restraint used to be exempt for road reg cars, then the exemption went away for a year or two, and now it is back which is great.
You still need to fit a fire extinguisher unfortunately. I'm currently having a second tilt at campaigning against its requirement for road reg vehicles but it wont be in place this year.
Useless trivia: Under CAMS rules you no longer need a fire extinguisher to do circuit races. So you could race 40 laps on a Saturday without one, then be turned away at a 4 lap supersprint the very next day in the same car on the same circuit because you dont have a ****y fire extinguisher that may or may not put out a fire. I'll win eventually. I just need to whine loud enough and get enough of the right people to whine with me, and find enough evidence that they are not enhancing safety in any way.
