Nope dealers does not matter who scratch the paint when polishing up for delivery the gunk they spay on it to make it look great for pick up hides most of these marks
The paint corrector takes it off and lo and behold all the swirls turn up

For paint protection it really depends on you
When i rang mitch told me if your keeping the car for 4 years and turning it over or its a lease car don't do it ! Everyone else did not care it was just yup bring it in we will do it. In the end that was why i chose divine detailing over other's he was not pressuring me at all
But if your going to be keeping the car for long term( mine is planed to be min 10 years) and you care about how it looks and or its exposed to the elements(mine is exposed a lot ) i think its worth it
I have a coworker who used to do paint inspections for ford at the factory he agrees with my detailer no car is perfect from factory!
(Tho he told me police cars had a special production colour on thier docket and were not inspected just waved through
Were going to be trashed in 40k so who cares)

FWIW, i have had Ceramic Pro applied to my last three cars, and also to my folks car and mates car.
Cannot speak highly enough about the product. Of course it all depends on your detailer as a good product over **** prep still looks ****.
The first car i had it appied to was bought new, but didn't get the product applied unlit it was 2 years old.
I traded that car only recently at 10 years old and the paint looked better than new. Got extra $ in the trade too.
My other cars have all had it applied within 2 weeks of pickup and it definately helps protect against bat/bird poo, tree sap etc.
I don't think there is a huge difference between ceramic pro and opticoat.

Yup i agree that the paint correction before coating is the most important thing you can get done a **** job under the coat will still look crap indeed
I went to both opticoat and pomp detailers to see coatings myself i was more impressed by pomp but at double the price?
Is it worth it? To me yes others have to make up their own minds
But a good coating irrespective of provider so long as the paint correction is done well will be a good investment if you are into keeping your car looking good

Hey Kachingg, great stuff - yes definately worth it if you are keeping the car long term. I had paint correction done on the TT on Saturday but no coating as my turnaround is usually 4-5 years, they advised the same if I was keeping the car for 6-10 years. I'm very happy that the swirls and other marks have been taken out, it really does make the paint pop more, very noticeable with black I imagine.
BMW Z4 (2019)
Audi TT quattro (2015), s-line in Nano Grey - sold
Ok could not be more impressed by pomp coating vry happy
So glossy! i live on a vry dusty road and lots of dust at work 2 so will prob get car claybar cleaned every 6 to 12 mths to keep shine and water beading
Its like looking in a mirror and the surface is so smooth and slick to touch
It cost a lot but i am happy
Taking photos of traffic in my paint
Even the wheels look great coated
