  • Of Dodo Juice and Mutant Poo

    Hi guys.

Two weekends ago I spent 5 hours detailing my car with the excellent products I had ordered from the awesome guys at Car Care Products. I washed, prepped and waxed and detailed the interior too.

I wondered to myself why I'd spent half my Sunday on my car. I was soon to find out...

About a week ago what seemed like a flying Brontosaurus decided to drop a bomb on the roof of my Golf. It was when I arrived home that I found out how awesome the Dodo Juice wax was. The bird poo came off like butter with a little water and left absolutely no marks on my paint.

Today, though, I noticed a yellowish splotch on my bonnet when I left work. I arrived home and did exactly the same thing as I had done with the previous poo. The rubbish itself came off, but I think It's marked my brand new paint!

Looking at the paint from an angle, the area where the poo was is more "matte" than the surrounding glossy area. I tried getting a shot of it but it's really difficult. Is my paint damaged? Or could the mark actually be on top of the wax layer?

How can one poo chew through two layers of wax and my top-coat in one day! MUTANT POO!

really depends you see on just how much acidic food hte mutant or dodo is eating - diets high in citrus, soft drink and tomato products will cause defecants that can be damaging to automotive finishes.

Hold on, have you actually tried getting a tiny bit of shampoo and water to wash it off??

Sounds to me like it's just what's left after poo sits on your car. I get it all the time and I've currently got a layer of sealant and 2 layers of wax on my car, so whatever doesn't wash off with a hose will get washed off the next time I properly wash the car.

If it doesn't wash out, then try a claybar. If the clay doesn't get it out, chances are it might have been acidic enough to go through the wax and stuff and sit on your paint. Your paint is new though, so you shouldn't have a problem getting it out even if you have to polish.

If it doesn't come out with a clay bar, try to get a picture so we can see.

Give it a was then a lime prime (or lime prime lite) then reapply your wax and all will be good.

          This ^ is spot on.

The wax layer should have saved it from seriously marking your paint. A simple paint clean with Lime Prime should remove the mark and leave the panel ready to be re-waxed.

Lime prime is the best. It's one of my fave products!

You were absolutely right lads. The mutant poo must have only got as far as the top few layers of the wax, because the mark disappeared completely after the wash.

I am a complete Dodo Juice convert and would recommend it to anyone with a new car (or an old car for that matter).

I would use the lite, cause your car is so new it shouldn't have many swirl marks in the paint.
The lime prime is more abrasive.

In regards to Dodo Juice, i just started using their Quick detailer, Red Mist

On a black car, it looks amazing, I was really suprised at how good it is

Did you use any Wax before putting the Red mist? or just simply red mist by itself?

No Just wash the car, dry it and go over it with red mist, you dont really use much of it at all, and im guessing you can kind of layer the red mist. I had a week off work and red misted the car 3 times in a week and it looked fantastic

Also I have just ordered some Chemical Guys V7, been waiting for it to come to Australia, and the reviews on at are fantastic. Should have it with in a few days
