Announcement

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Electro tailgate no-go

    Greetings all.
It isn't showing any faults on the VCDS but the leccy gate, she no-go.

First motor locks and unlocks fine but the open/close deal is out to lunch. No go on fob, console or door.
Could something have come away on the relevant motor, some kind of activation arm or something?
Getting 5 'hazard' beeps on trying to open or close.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

This is on a MK3? Should be covered by warranty at least.

If it is a MK3, have you had the recall done to remove the signal booster? When mine was done, they accidentally disconnected one of the little motors that releases the luggage cover automatically, could have done something similar in yours that has effected a sensor?

      It's an MY11 Mkii.
Has been working fine for years.
May have to pop the trim off to see what i can see.

          I'm the second owner.
I believe the previous owner had it all sorted as it was in place but not activated. Was working from fob, console and door.
