The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Superb 162TSI wagon full tank capacity 70L plus???

Hi, if I am not mistaken, the fuel full tank capacity for Superb wagon is 66L from the spec/brochure.
How come when I fill in the petrol, I can fill in 70-72L from the light turn on (still shows 80km more to drive in the car display). note: I use premium 98

Is this possible or the petrol station pump something wrong?

I've experienced this a few times already. I haven't try different petrol station company though.
I normally use Caltex Woolworths so I haven't try BP or Shell yet.

    Any comments?

    Thanks.

Have had that in a Patrol where I got 41 L into a 36 L tank. I reported the servo for faulty pumps

Try a different servo and get up them if there's a difference (the tricky bit is to get the fuel gauge at the same point, not distance to empty). My experience with is 1-2 litres more than whats stated (brimmed to the top), but taking into account you probably have 8 litres left in the tank, your numbers indicate a difference of around 10 litres. Petrol will expand/contract with the temp too, 15% more? I dunno.

Just occurred to me - if you feel inquisitive and inclined, as a quick test, you could get a 5 or 20L jerry can and see how much it takes at that servo. 15% difference should be visible, if its good, then maybe you have a 77 litre tank

Reported to investigate the fuel pump.
Just got a result back that it is working normally and no fault at all.

I don't have jerry can to test so I will try from other petrol station.
