Congratulation! You got yourself a very good car. Even though I only had my Superb sedan for 4 days, I still get to enjoy the Superb wagon as courtesy car while my car is being repaired. Each day I drive it, each day I fall in love with it.
Just to let you know, yesterday I fit a single mattress inside the wagon with rooms to spare! It's amazing! Normally with mattresses I have to pay $50-70 delivery fee. Now all saved! My wife is thinking of what we can get in Ikea while we still got the wagon as courtesy car.
Theoretically yes. I still got the brochures from 2009 and 2010. The brochure printed in Feb 2010 has Sat Nav/Columbus in Elegance model. It specifically says "specification are as planned at April 2010, for MY2010/2011....".
But be careful with used cars. Make sure the equipment that you want is included and put in writing. I have seen some used car advertised as a 2011 car (cuz the compliance plate is 2011), but is obviously a MY09 car. (it's obvious, Bolero instead of Columbus, as the former one has only 3 buttons beside the screen cf 4 with the Columbus. Also the antenna in MY09 looks quite dumb. Headlight washer is also same color as the car rather than chrome).
besides the upgraded bolero to columbus, were there any other upgrades from the MY09 to MY10
(I called Skoda and they said that it is a MY10 based on the VIN, so hopefully it has the columbus, but would be good to know if it misses out on anything else..)

Yep, a bit more actually. Skoda Aus realised that a $50,000 car should have leather as standard lol (and how bad value our Superbs are compared to overseas). But seriously the Elegance got leather and Columbus as standard but the electric rear blind was removed from the equipment list. There was also a price drop to the levels they're at today (of course without the 103TDI/4x4 drivetrains). They should have the same idea with the Yeti and Fabia while they're at it...

Reason: Fail spelling.

According to Skoda the Columbus radio was optional as was leather in the 2009 car Elegance. VAG Newbie, I would be very interested in seeing the original brochure to in fact see if what Skoda have told me re the radio and trim was in fact true. Would it be possible for me to have a scanned copy?
just got photos of the car, has the bolero... oh well.. i didn't really need sat nav, but do need bluetooth.. now to work out which BT module to get...!
anyone know any place in adelaide that install these things? (else i guess i can try myself)

Yap, if you got Bolero, you got a MY09. But it may not necessary be a bad thing as many people have complained about the GPS with RNS510. Many would prefer to use their Tomtom and retain the good audio with Bolero.
With the BT, our dealer fit all their cars with BT as standard (Even the pre MY12 models), so perhaps you can haggle your dealer?
If you PM me your email address, I can send a scanned copy of the 09 brochure (just the spec page, can't do the whole book).
picked it up today from the train.. (im in Adel, bought it unseen from Syd)
so far.. pretty awesome.. were a couple of small scratches on it, and the rims had hit the gutter , but nothing worse than i would do
deffo has bolero, but bonus is it does have some sort of bluetooth already fitted, although the mic thing seems to be installed behind the steering wheel and it has come loose - it says 'parrot' on it. I managed to get it making phone calls through it on my android phone, but wasn't able to get music yet.
also has floor mats which are nice.
and has the side mirrors which are electric and swing in, i think this means it is slightly older, but for me this is a win as our driveway is narrow
only driven it a little bit and there was a bit of a 'dut-dut-dut' sounds as if one of the wheels was a bit flat or something, but i had a look and couldn't see anything.. im guessing it might need a wheel alignment???
Spent about $400 on cleaning products so far (nanolex this weekend lol)
Ordered rear blinds
Ordering boot mat next
Also need seat covers (esp back seat - got little kids who are going to destroy this car )
So far the car is pretty awesome, two disappointments:
- i think the tyres have worn strangely or something and there is a repeating 'dut dut dut' that speeds up/slows down with the speed of the car.. most pronounced around 30kmph-50kmph...
- it has bluetooth (big win!), but unfortunately can't stream music
Run your hands around the front tyres and feel the wear pattern on the individual blocks. Mine had the issue and it was the blocks worn in a tapered fashion, tyre guys called it castling/castelling. They say a lot of powerful FWD cars suffer from it especially VW group cars, I reckon mine is from towing heavy trailers at high speed. Mine had the rythmic thump as yours has.
