Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Superb Cabin Filter Replacement

Regarding the Cabin Filter, I just changed mine out after the first service.

I purchased a VAG Genuine Activated Charcoal Cabin Filter Part No. 5Q0 819 653 (Mann Filter Part No. CUK 26 009).

However what I pulled out of the Superb was a VAG Genuine FreciousPlus Biofunctional Cabin Filter Part No. 5Q0 819 669 (Mann Filter Part No. FP 26 009) - Original Cabin Filter!

    https://catalog.mann-filter.com/AU/e...og/MANN-FILTER Katalog Australien/Vehicles/CARS %2B TRANSPORTERS/SKODA/Superb III (3V)/2.0 162 TSI CJXA (T254384)/Cabin Filter/FP 26 009

I wonder what Part Number Skoda replaces on the 2yr service???

So next time around I will get the correct one!!!

    Is it the same size?

    They're both carbon activated.

Dimensionally the same, looks like FP 26009 (Frecious Plus) is some new fangled anti allergenic filter.

So just had my 2yr / 30,000km service and ŠKODA service were going to replace my Cabin Filter with the "standard" Charcoal Cabin Filter (Part No. 5Q0819653). I politely refused and replaced my own once again with the originally installed Part No. 5Q0819669 purchased from my local VW Parts Department (as it was in stock with them, 5 day wait from ŠKODA parts...!!!)

Nothing wrong with the standard charcoal filter, especially if you’re to replace it every 2 years.
How much did you pay for the filter?

I personally change every 12mths. $53 (only $5 more than the Charcoal Filter).
I am aware they are made by MANN, however even they are anywhere from $45 and above plus delivery...

              Works for me!

                Works for me!
I got the Mahle CareMetix LAO888 filter from Amazon for $33.20 (they had free delivery from the US promo for Prime members).
I think it is the equivalent of Mann FP filters.

                  Nice find.

And yes it is a direct alternative to the Volkswagen Genuine FreciousPlus Biofunctional Cabin Filter Part No. 5Q0819669 (Mann Filter Part No. FP26009).

                  Mahle have great products too!

Just picked up another Part No. 5Q0819669 in readiness for the 3yr Service in May.
The Genuine Filters are now MAHLE and are no longer the "Yellow" colour for the FreciousPlus Biofunctional Filters.

On another note, I was also advised that this part number is now no longer available for future orders???

VGA will only be supplying Activated Charcoal Filters Part No. 5Q0 819 653 (Mann Filter Part No. CUK 26 009)...

Looks like I might have to find some Mann Filter Part No. FP 26 009...
