  • 2011 VRS Wagon | 4WD?

I'm about to take delivery of my first Skoda, a 2011 VRS Wagon but I'm confused after Googling its drivetrain specs; gumtree reports 4WD, other review sites say front-wheel-drive, current owner says front-wheel-drive. I assume it's front-wheel-drive but I'm not 100% sure.

    Redbook says front: http://www.redbook.com.au/cars/resea...POT-ITM-302566

Drive says 4WD : 20010-2014 Skoda Octavia RS147 used car review

Not sure where they get that from. I'm sure it's only the mk3 that has 4wd in Europe and it's only the diesel at that.

Your options (thorough the years) in Australia are:

RS - front wheel drive (petrol or diesel)
Scout - 4x4 (petrol or diesel)
Standard Octavia - Front wheel drive (petrol or diesel)
2007-8 Octavia 4x4 (diesel only, this is not a Scout or the standard Octavia and it's standard height)
2008 Skoda Octavia Elegance TDI 4x4 wagon
Bluefin 132Kw/385Nm, Racechips Response Control, Haldex Performance controller, H&R anti roll bars, Koni FSD shocks, SuperPro control arms & ball joints, subframe & gearshift mods, Full Dynamat interior, Polk Audio sound, Columbus, Bluetooth, MDI, parking sensors, camera. BBS SR 18x8" w/ 225/40xR18. 3M Crystalline tint.

My new steed is a humble front-driver then.
It's on a truck somewhere in QLD en route to Tas. ETA your-guess-is-as-good-as-mine

As a former owner of a similar vehicle, it is front wheel drive. After 6 years with only an aerial problem, sorry to see it go. Was getting too low to get in & out off. Enjoy. Mine went well during a trip to Tasmania some years ago.
