When I bought my Octavia back in May, I started to look into the pre-paid service plans - a 3 year and 5 year plan is offered. I've not decided yet whether to go for it or not. Luckily I have until May 2017 to think about it!
It seems that most of inclusions/exclusions are similar to those of the capped price services. On the face of it, purchasing the pre-paid plan could mean a cost saving over paying for each of the equivalent capped price services individually, based on the pricing published on Skoda's website. The 5 year plan represents the biggest saving, especially if inflation is taken into account. The downside is that it's a fair wedge of cash to outlay up front in one hit!
Oddly, things like filters and spark plugs are excluded from the pre-paid plan and the capped price service, even though they are normal serviceable items...
It seems a little misleading to sell "capped price servicing" and then charge extra for things like filters (presumably at prices the dealer sets themselves).
I was just wondering what the average cost over and above the advertised capped price people have been paying for each service (when using capped price servicing at a dealer)?
Has anyone taken out the pre-paid service plan already? If so, a good thing or not?
