What's the best place to get a decent speed and quality SD card?

Any suggestion on the best brand/speed? I see some come up onozbargain at times, but a lot seems to be slower/older cards. For 22GB you really want something decent and faster than what the car has fitted.

The dealer has checked with VW Australia and they said that portal isn't for Oz maps. Has anyone actually update the Oz maps on it. If not that is probably why it expires once the VINS are associated with being Oz.

SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston, etc they all do the job. Look at 32 to 64 GB class 10. Anything from 40Mbps speed would work without any issues. This is just my observation.

If the dealer will be updating the maps then you don't really need it except for music or something.

Not sure that holds true, but as per post #22 @Smart1 couldn't get his map updated even at the dealer as they claimed there was no update for his car. I don't think anyone has managed to update the maps so far.

Does it say if your map subscription expires on a particular date online?

My car was built last week so as fresh as you can get. Got the VIN today and put it in. I'm seeing Maps as 2016 ROW with a note that another update will coming in the maps in May.

I also downloaded a 2015 /2016 map using a new vin and couldn't install. They appear to be vin encrypted.

If anyone has successfully applied the map http://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.c...W_NT_Q1.15.zip could you tell me what the version info shows on the Columbus? Following earlier comment i dont want to waste time installing a same or worse older version!
Mine currently shows 0049 ROW 2015/2016

I didn't see the subscription expired or the renew option some have posted. It just showed ROW 2016 and said there was an update coming in May as well. My guess is that this portal doesn't work at all for Oz maps and is the European self serve portal. Would also make sense why it "expires" as once they know that VIN is not for Europe they remove them from the system to stop people putting the wrong maps in their car

I put the VIN of my new MY16 in and said I had an update to the 2016 version. My current version is the 2015/2016 which doesn't have my street on it, so I was hoping the new version would have it.

I downloaded the new maps and thew new bluetooth update then followed the specific instructions but I keep getting this error:

There's some info on one of the brisskoda threads specific to this error and to do with cleaning up the card. Might be worth a try.

Yep it's probably because that version map is not right. I think it might be time to conclude that portal is no use to us here and is why it doesn't work for anyone.

The thing i found strange was that when you look through the file that all the maps are there in the directories and one Aussie made note on the Briskoda site that he did actually download and install the new map. He made mention however that he didn't have a subscription notice on the portal either.
I also found various different places to download the maps from including from navigation.com and downloading the VW Discover Pro maps, which were all exactly the same files.

I've still got the dealer looking into how exactly they get updated if that portal doesn't work.
