  • Belt Screeching Noise

I've been noticing recently, a screeching noise that lasts about 1-2 secs, when I accelerate from a stand still.
But this ONLY happens with the AC on.
AC off and there is no screeching noise during take off.

I'm assuming some belt related to the AC compressor is on it's last legs.

    Any advice/opinions?
Should I get it fixed asap, or in the fullness of time?

Car is a RS TSi, 2010 built, DSG.
    Recently clocked over 90,000 kms.

Most likely the belt. I would change it sooner so it doesn't break and leave you stranded somewhere.

Often caused by belt slipping. Having air con on increases the stress on the belt. Can also be the compressor itself.
