Traffic Info Activation

EDIT: Found a specialist VW mechanic in Canberra who is happy to enable the traffic info for me. Just asked me to provide the coding for it. Anyone point me in the right direction? Been Googling but no luck so far. Car is Octavia RS MY16.

Are there any other settings that I should be looking at having enabled at the same time as the traffic? Like speed limits etc.. coming up?

5F-Adaption, Follow the screen shot. and you have to make sure RDS and TP is enabled in the settings and wait for about 40mins. The traffic report will start come.





Is it the same for the Octavia RS?

When i did a MY16 car I found that you had to go into the radio settings and make sure that "TP" was unchecked, then make the update the fee based traffic information fro 0 to 1024, then turn back on the TP setting

Traffic was a good activation. Also recommend activating Boot closing from key/inside car.

Requested my dealer activate traffic info, disable the sound generator and enable the lap timer/stopwatch. He said the guys down at the workshop were happy to give it a go, I sent through what I could find instruction wise, though a lot of it was the ross-tech stuff rather then the official VAGCOM/VCDS stuff. Hopefully they can work it all out for me! Fingers crossed otherwise I'll just take it to the local VW mechanic here to get it done after I get it.

My son started his first day as an apprentice at Lennock yesterday. He knows I wanted to activate traffic info on my car and must have asked someone, because at the end of his day he told me that it voids the warranty. Apparently, traffic info is "illegal" (his word, not sure what law it breaks) in Australia which is why the car comes with it inactive by default. It would be interesting to know the thinking behind this.

Sounds like the sort of crap one often hears coming from dealerships, don't know the answer so they make one up.

I'm on the northern beaches and have VCDS HEX CAN cable. Ive done a couple of mods to mine, enabling the key and button to shut the tailgate for instance as well as traffic info. All care, no responsibility, but happy to do it.

Well it's illegal for Skoda to sell it enabled, because they haven't paid Suna to use it.

Did you end up finding anyone to assist in Perth mate? Im in Hillary's and hoping to get traffic activated and also set up boot closing on remote/inside car..

did you ever get this sorted mate? I still havent but spoke with Joe at Elite Euro in Wangara last week. He reckons they can do the auto boot stuff but wasnt sure about the traffic info activation (and ive read somewhere else (and also noticed the post above....) that it can only be done on MY16 and later....anyone know if thats true...I have MY15).
