Passenger side mirror dip adjustment during reverse, with memory seats

Hi, I've been trying to set the amount the passenger side mirror during reverse but to no avail. I have memory seats.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. I'd appreciate some advice. But the steps that I've followed from the manual are:

1. Unlock with remote key
2. Turn on ignition
3. Turn rotary knob to "L"
4. Engage reverse gear
5. Adjust mirror to desired position
6. Disengage reverse gear

However after step 6, the mirror stays dipped.....even after I've changed to "D". I'd need to manually re-adjust the mirror to normal driving angles.

Once you adjust the mirror and disengage the gear, switching the car off will bring the mirror back to its normal position. The other way is you put it into gear and drive it above 10 kph and it automatically comes to the normal position. Also, the rotary knob always need to be on L for the mirror to dip during reverse. Hope this makes sense.

Set the mirror for normal driving and then select reverse. If the tick box is checked under the car settings, it should dip. Then when you drive away, it will come back up. But remember to have the rotary knob in l or it won't work!

Ive got it and its useless as it wont dip far enough to see the rear wheel Never bother with it now.

I can't see my rear wheel either, but if my guard gets anywhere close to the gutter, I adjust the car. You'll know where your car ends and the gutter starts soon enough. I don't have elec seats, so my mirror only dips 5* which is a poofteenth of **** all in the scheme of things, but it's enough to see the gutter and rear door handle.

Must just be lucky with our Superb. Clear view down and back to rear wheel when in reverse. Sometimes does not come back up to normal driving position though after moving forward. I've found easiest way to bring it back up if does not come up automatically is to touch a seat memory button.

Thanks venom_oz. You are right on the dot. The mirror doesn't return to normal unless you drive away or switch off the car.

However I think the good thing is that me and my wife are able to save two different angles during reverse.

To do this do you have to have the electric seats or should the normal RS do this also?

You need the electric seats. It's tied to the memory with them.

No worries. Knew we should have got that option also, but I know the kids would not be that good on the leather.
