Just spoke to the dealer and it's true that they send the info out at the end of the month after the car has been picked up. He emailed me a copy of the paper work showing it's been logged and approved.
Regarding the Km amounts, he also finds it strange that it states 150000Km as he has always known it to be unlimited. It also states unlimited on the paper I got when I picked up the car.

Might be a euro thing and shows up by default. Unlimited Kms warranties I thought first started in Australia. I remember not so long ago when Falcons only had 12mths warranty and everything tended to break on them just after that.

I think woofy is right tat there are some shennanigans regarding unlimited /150k. I think that's one of the reasons I didn't bother buying extended warranty as I would have hit the 150k before the time had run out - or my yearly kilometres was more than what they allowed.

Yes, once you enter your VIN details and add your car click on [My Car] and then [Car Data]. This will show the warranty details.

Edit: Don't worry.....just checked and noticed I haven't put my VIN in yet. I assume once you're VIN is entered the warranty information is easy to find.

I picked up my MY15.5 Octavia vRS DSG kombi 2 weeks ago and had ordered it with the 2 year warranty extension. Just wondering what paperwork others received to verify that the car is covered by the extended warranty. All I got was a piece of paper stating that the warranty is 5 years, but it makes no reference to the car as in staing the VIN, just a signature from the sales consultant and myself. The stickers on the car also state 3 year warranty as well, not 5 but I'm guessing that is just the standard sticker they put on the car. Curious to hear what others have.
            Sorry for going offtopic.

I just came to realize you said your car is MY15.5, may I ask what is the difference between a MY15.5 and a MY15 RS? If my car was built in Feb15, does it make it MY15.5 or MY15?

As Reichter said it will be MY15.5.
I believe it got MY15.5 designation after CW45 2014 build dates when there were the small updates such as reverse camera, luxury pack option and flat bottom steering wheel on the vRS.

I thought those are MY15 things thank you for clarifying.

(it's probably a 2015 thing instead of MY15, thank VW for confusing us)

Hmm those were all MY15, AFAIK there is no such thing as the MY15.5. The comfort pack was something that popped up late last year but still was an option known when the MY15 started being made. The flat steering wheel and camera were all well known MY15 additions from early in the year.

When I went to order my car in late October/early November 2014 the dealer told me to wait until calender week 45 as that's when the reverse camera was available as standard and thats when the luxury pack would be available. He also stated that it would get the MY15.5 designation. Have a look on carsales.com.au and you'll see plenty of MY15.5 cars advertised.

^^^ What atzialis said. Mid-cycle update, for example from memory RVC became part of the Tech Pack for Ambition Plus spec, where previously it was unavailable. Some other changes too, other threads will tell the full story. Week 45 is week 45 of calendar year, i.e. week commencing 3/11/2014. Week 22 of 2015 (late May) was start of MY16 production. Confused yet?

MY16 used to be after their summer break....or maybe it gets disrupted very soon and most were made after that break.

A quick search of the official Skoda (Au) site reveals they refer to cars built from week 45 (2014) onwards as MY15.5, usually coincides with a new brochure/pricelist. The new model year always starts on week 22(25th of May this year). The changes at week 45 last year were significant enough that the MY15.5 cars have their own entry in redbook valuations. Skoda does minor updates/change specifications at these two milestones thus the practice (unofficial?) of tacking .5 after week 45. This makes me wonder when the MY16 brochure and updated configurator will happen? Are they waiting for the new Fabia due July?

They haven't always had a 0.5 yr. The weirdest thing they did was when the facelight came through on the MkII on everything but the RS. So for 6mths the RS was the same as the first MkII but had the facelift interior. They then released the completely facelifted RS with the different engine in it.

Hhhmm, interesting read, should've posted my question here about MY16 instead of on the other thread. Any ideas or speculation what the MY16 upgrades might entail?
