  • Different Steering Wheels - on two octavia VRS'

I am so confused .... I sat in my mates 2012 (maybe built in 2011) manual Octavia VRS and it didn't have the multi function steering wheel. Mine is a 2012 build, DSG and it has a MFSW ..

Can anyone tell me why this is the case ? Was it an option ? Was there a cut off date when building ? manual vs DSG ?

I did a bit of reading and can't quite work it out !

Yep, manuals didn't get MFSW. Apparently if your capable of changing gears your capable of reaching for the stereo controls.

My one and only gripe with our 08 RS, I couldn't believe it. That and Bluetooth was not offered in Oz for some odd reason until the Mk2.5

And bluetooth wasn't standard until 2011, I assumed my FL 2010 had bluetooth when I bought it....boy was I wrong.

Bluetooth was std from MY12 models.
mine is a MY11 model. I retrofitted bluetooth to mine later.

Damn .. what an informative bunch haha

How about why his earlier mk2 has front and rear sensors (with a button to turn off sensors) whilst my mk2 only has rear parking sensors ?

                Options ?

It was an option, I have F + R, but find most don't bother. The car they had in stock had them, otherwise I wouldn't have got them and I paid no extra. In hindsight thank god they were there as they are really useful with such a low front.

I thought this question actually was going to be about the new flat bottom steering wheels in all the MY15 RS coming through!

                          Hi all,

Expecting to receive my RS (manual) in the next 2-3 weeks and a little disappointed now after reading the manual doesn't get the MFSW!

Surprised I didn't pick this up on the test drive vehicle?

Can anyone with a 2015 built RS manual confirm?

                          Thanks

                            Hi mate,

Just note that I started this thread REFERRING TO THE Mk2 VRS steering wheel and not the current Mk3 VRS.

Hopefully this didn't flow on to the MK3 .........

Oh, failed to see that detail in my fit of disappointment!

Let's hope Skoda came to their senses...
