Thanks for the info, I'm gathering they are good and know their stuff? Looks like they will have another customer soon. I'm not really interested in overpriced dealer servicing, especially if they are on the hunt for EUC tunes to negate my warranty.

You are all going to laugh but anyone running an atmo BOV :p Im a former Evo driver and I do like the occasional psh! lol

Check out their FB page to see the cars they service. Aventadors, 458, GTRs etc etc. Arthur knows his stuff when dealing with VAG motors.

The dealers aren't hunting for tunes. The software is automatic - they have no control over it.

I don't know of anyone running an atmo BOV. The Octavia is a bit more sophisticated in both engineering & "style" than the EVO.

There are known turbo issues so the tune isn't entirely to blame, if you have a bad turbo it will fail even stock as the boost levels with the tune are still within stock levels. I thought majority of turbos are failing early in the cars life? I guess it depends on how much you are pushing them.

There has been a few revisions to the turbos. I haven't heard of one fail yet on Briskoda or any other forum but i could be wrong.

Also, I wasn't aware the Mk7 GTI had any turbo issues. I thought most of those where the Golf R/Audi S3 which has a different turbo to the Mk7 GTI/Mk3 Occy?
I heard of one at the same time all the Rs/S3s were lunching themselves so I made an assumption there was a possibility of related issues. I think wait a bit (10,000km) as that's when engineering issues usually become apparent.

Maybe APR does have a non-counter map but I wouldn't trust them in their current financial straits (The HQ in USA) and the way they tried to cover up the exhaust material downgrade.

DZL Dazza knows the risks - he's a 2nd time owner but for the new folks they need to know what they are up against rather than rush in & be done over by VW.
