Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Columbus Switch Off Screen function resetting

    Hi all,
In the screen settings I check the box for 'switch off screen (in 10 seconds)' and all works fine until the ignition is next switched off. Next start up I have to check the same box again as the setting has not held. Wondering if any one has had this problem or knows the solution.
    Regards

i don't think its supposed to "stick".
my version of "swtich off screen" does it immediately, and remains off until the screen/button is touched. during this time, it shows just the current time.

i've never known for the setting to be held.

    maybe others have it.

from pg 18 of the columbus user manual......

      Display off
      – Pressing the function key makes it possible to set the touchscreen to energy save mode, the display is black and the current information about the audio source is only displayed in the lower part.
      – The display can be switched on again by touching the touch-screen or by pressing any button, except the control button.
