I replaced my mkII manual gear shift knob with the mkIII manual gear shift knob.
Mk III looks much better and has vRS on the knob. And my mkII one was flaking chrome for the second time after being replaced under warrant once before.
All up about 30mins and $110 AUD from eBay UK
I have a red stitched manual gear shift pleather boot if anyone wants it. The mk III is smaller than mkII so I can't use it.
Finally got my GFB DV+ installed last week. Only been able to really open her up a few times since (as had the kids in the car most of the time) but she certainly seems to hold higher boost for longer up into the rev range (and subsequently appears to pull longer up into the rev range) than with the stock DV.
I've been looking into this lately. Could someone explain the use/benefit of this mod on a stock car? Just wanting to know what the difference will be after installing it and if it's worth it. Also, if there has been any known issues. Thanks.
From what I've read there will be little benefit on a stock car unless your current OEM DV has failed.
Although the other benefit I noticed this morning was the huge amount of boost immediately readily available after gear changes. Went from 2nd to 3rd this morning and bam the boost immediately available in 3rd was very impressive to say the least.
So even with a stock car this might be a reasonable benefit.
No, but that's the next step with a bad pump. I'm getting the timing belt done in Nov and will be doing the pump while they are there. 7yrs old this Nov going strong.
