Bought some acoustic underlay to line the boot area with, 1.8sqm should be enough for the job, I hope. I also have heaps of dunlop carpet underlay from previous carpet job at the house, will use this quite extensively . Still waiting for the actual deadener to arrive...

I would be interested to hear how that goes. Lots have done it but you rarely hear any subsequent "OMG better than a RR now" type comments.
Naturally I expect pre and post installation noise meter readings
Well an app on mobile phone will do.
My sound deadener has arrived, it's not Dynamat Extreme but I was on a budget , $70 bucks including shipping for 1.95sqm.
Total spent for this project is $159 for anti-drum (deadening), insulation foam and install kit.
Inspected the boot area for plan of attack and little bit of vacuuming as well, the problem that I can immediately hear is the area right behind the rear seat. Skoda has 'generously' included a layer of sound deadening for that particular area, however bang it with your fist and it sounded very similar to a drum , a rather loud one. I managed to muffle it by sitting on top of it lol.
I've used Dynamat Extreme in the past and RAAMat as well, if you have the budget stick with Dynamat Extreme, they are the best. The foil on the Dynamat is very thick and can easily do a lot of damage to any of your flesh, plus the black stuff will stick to EVERYTHING, clean or dirty.
The one I just bought from for the Octy has a very similar feel to RAAmat, perhaps slightly stiffer. Hopefully it will do the job as our car is pretty decent to start with.
I've downloaded db meter app for my android phone , will let you know the result.
I will get around to sound deadening the boot and front doors. I have heard there are airbag sensors in the front doors, somight want to check before you pull trims off. Take some pics when you do it all!
2014 Skoda Ambition Plus 103TSI candy white wagon, 6sp Manual, Tech pack, Panoramic Sunroof, 18's, Colour Maxidot, Comfort BT
Ordered 07 May 14 (Wk 15), Built Wk 37, Loaded 27/9 (wk 39), Docked 12/11 (wk 46), DELIVERED! 12/12 (end of wk 50 - 7 months + 1 week).
Played around with the decibel meter this afternoon, baseline reading at idle in the garage is around about 40db. Driving around at local road at speed of 50km/h resulted in a reading of around about 59-61db dependant on road surface.
I also managed to lay down some deadening in the boot area, two layers directly behind the rear seat and patches inside the spare wheels well.
I wasn't expecting any reduction in road noise which is confirmed with the decibel meter, however whenever the car encounters road imperfections (bump, pothole, etc) I found that the interior noise to be less peaky, this is an encouraging result . I will add some more deadening in the wheel well and around the boot area, probably two sheets max. Hoping to get a better result once the the acoustic liner is laid down
GTR27: On my younger days, I often pulled apart the door skin on my car (Merc C-class w203) to tweak the sound systems, they have an actual airbag in the door and it was a pretty ordinary experience, no sensor was faulted AFAIK. I was never involved in an accident with that car though, so can't comment on the integrity of the sensor itself .

this is my attempt at sound deadening the boot area......
mirrored the same for the left side.
i'm tempted to put some sound deadening carpet under the parcel shelf too.......
I think I'm going to follow your application pattern, is your car noticeably quieter with the deadener? do you put anything else on top of the deadener?
I did more measurement today whilst driving on the highway, result as follow:
80km/h - 64 to 65 db
100km/h - 66 to 67 db
This is done while cruising with minimal engine load. Road surface is quite smooth.
Just for fun, I did test my C-class, at idle it read 43 db and same db reading at 80km/h. Skoda is doing a pretty good job me think
