It's the Skoda one.. fits great... I'm pretty happy with it..
I know that the Rearguard ones do provide additional protection on the edge of the lip. But I'm not too rough on my cars so I think this should do me ok...

          • Just wondering who here has put on spacers to help the wheels fill the arches better. I'm thinking of doing it. I reckon it will look a lot better... but worried about how it will effect wear and tear on the wheel bearings...

I was just thinking the exact same thing the other day! Lol. I dare say you may get slightly more wear and tear on the bearings but i don't think it would make to much of a difference to the life of them. I would be more concerned about the safety and the legalities in regards to insurance being void etc.

You make a good point.. I wonder if anyone has had experience with insurance issues this brings up.. etc..

                • Last time i checked..insurance companies only cover you for legal mods. So if you have an illegal mod...they may deny you when it comes to making a claim. Wheel spacers on a road car that isnt OEM is considered an illegal mod. I could be wrong, and happy to be corrected. But i wouldnt risk it. Or get it in black and white from your insurance company.

As Reichter has mentioned i do believe also that spacers are illegal on Australian roads

Your car will no longer be roadworthy and therefore your insurance will be null/void. This doesn't apply to certain models of Porsche that come with factory spacers.

It shouldn't affect the wheel bearings unless you go quite thick (more than 10mm) as there are other factory wheels which move the centreline of the wheel further outwards.

Skoda won't see it this way so they will void your warranty on any of the parts in that area (not just the bearings).

You are better off either going to a 235/40r18 tyre or buying a set of lightweight rims in the offset you want.

I have run spacers on other cars. I didn't have any issues. There are plenty of cars out there that run spacers without issue. Ideally if you could attach the spacer to the wheel and there wasn't a hub step nobody would ever know.

Thanks for the info on that.. I think you're right.. it would be far easier for me to look for some aftermarket rims with the offset I want. Anyway I'm in no hurry.. I'm enjoying the car immensely as it is.. lol

                          • I finally got around to fitting the Audi S3 seats i bought several months back.

The airbag connectors needed to be swapped over as the Audi & Skoda are slightly different. The colour coding of the wires is the same & it appears the expected resistance is the same as there is no airbag fault.

I still have to run power to the electric lumbar support but that's no big deal.

Blends in reasonably well with the rears. Much better bolstering.

                            • The base looks identical in shape and cutout to the MkII RS seats, the top a bit as well, but the Audis are squarer at the top.

They probably are identical to the vRS but I have an Elegance. The old seats were perfectly adequate but these leather seats were part of a bundle of parts i bought. I felt obliged to fit them.
