Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • I'm holding out for the Integrated Engineering IC to become available (Mk6 version IE FSI/TSI/TFSI FDS Performance Intercooler Kit), costly (approx $1000) though it looks like a good bit of kit. Upgrading the IC seems a no brainer for our climate

Climate was definitely a factor for me. After putting a Stage 1 file on the car I figured I would have to increase the cooling as soon as possible, especially with temps in the mid 30's lately. Now that I have seen the difference a larger cooler can make I would not hesitate going even larger, when funds allow of course.

Now that I am hooked on the performance of my car I am thinking downpipe next. Any recommendations?

Going stage one next week I'd rate CTS. My brother has their K04 and turboback exhaust. He's very happy with it. CTS Turbo Gen 3 1.8T/2.0T TSI Downpipe

Thanks for the advice, I will keep them in mind.

Who are you getting to do the tune? I can highly recommend Viezu. Went from 106kw at the wheels to 128kw at the wheels from my 118TSI.

Going with GIAC and CTS for intake as my mechanic is an Australian dealer for both products. I've heard good things about Viezu.

              • Also installed LED rear indicator bulbs and reverse lights! Love them.!! Need the front indicators in LED too, possibly the corner and fogs in same Color Temperature as new reverse bulbs - nice and white like the headlamps!
Also debadged the rear Škoda and Octavia off and kept VRS.

                Looks really, really good!! [emoji1][emoji1]

I got replacement fogs from ledperf, but they aren't LEDs. They do match the xenon's though. Fogs are H8 bulbs.

Have you got the sidelights for the xenon's? Looks heaps better. The only lights I don't have led are front indicator and the aforementioned fog lights.

                    • You mean the little park bulbs for the headlamps? Or you mean the bulbs that sit next to fogs? (Turning lights)

                          ExtreLED.com

I have the salesmans contact details - broken English (Eastern Euro) but good guy and company. Legit.

                          Here is what I bought:

PY21W CREE type Colour amber 23€/ud total pair 46€
P21W CREE XTc type colour white 5000k 18€/ud total pair 36€
Shipments costs to Australia (with tracking number) 23€

105€ in total. Rather then making an account on their website - I emailed them asking about details on postage and products. I kept contact with the salesman and paid via PayPal.

                          Easy.

                              • so I received the led bulbs from LED per which I installed and they look fantastic just one thing I've noticed is the lights stay on when the car is locked - its quite a dim flickering light but a little annoying. Just wondering if anyone else had the same issue - the lights are the front and rear ceiling lights - resistors are included in the LED package but Im a little unsure of how they install on the bulb?

                                appreciate any help
