What will you buy when your Octavia doesn't arrive?
There is a steel grey RS wagon on car sales with basically all options and manual with exception of tech pack if you can do with out that and like the color could be a good buy
Nope. Just thinking on it. Makes an interesting comparison Alex. Pinnacle BMW from a decade ago or new Octavia RS. FWD vs RWD, turbo vs NA, Manual vs SMG, wagon vs coupe. Nothing alike yet both are so very appealing to me.
Does make an interesting comparison. Admittedly I'd love a M3, but amongst other reasons (insurance on one of those for a 23yo in Sydney anyone?) it isn't a feasible option.
Admittedly if I had another car to park at uni, Yacht Club carpark and carry a bike (fortunate that I leave the car in the garage and walk to public transport), and the money to run one, I'd seriously consider it. Alas, I don't.
MY16 Octavia Scout 132TSI Premium - denim blue metallic, Tech pack, electric seats, panoramic roof, auto boot, roof racks, mud flaps and rubber mats
We ordered an RS wagon, Candy White, manual with tech and black pack mid april. We wewre told a couple of weeks ago that it wouldn't be getting built until April with delivery possibly July.
We looked around again and my wife was interested in a Yeti so she took one for a test drive. Then she went for a drive in an RS.
We now own a silver RS wagon with the DSG and no tech pack.

Wait... Five months into the order they told you it would be another seven months before it is built?
Candy White RS Wagon 162 TSI Manwell. 18" Black Pack, Sunroof, Tech Pack.
Ordered: 22/09/14 - Built: 14/11/14 - ETA: 31/01/15 - Delivered 03/02/15
Probably had another buyer that was willing to pay more..... So make up a story about lead time, buyer cancels, sell already ordered car for more, to a buyer that thinks his dealer is 'special' for getting an order that's loaded quick.....
2014 Skoda Ambition Plus 103TSI candy white wagon, 6sp Manual, Tech pack, Panoramic Sunroof, 18's, Colour Maxidot, Comfort BT
Ordered 07 May 14 (Wk 15), Built Wk 37, Loaded 27/9 (wk 39), Docked 12/11 (wk 46), DELIVERED! 12/12 (end of wk 50 - 7 months + 1 week).
Haven't been keeping up with VWA for a while (sorry guys!) but I got a similar call. Car ordered March, expected Aug, delayed to Oct build Nov delivery and now Dec build Feb delivery. Since I've been driving around in an 2002 Commodore with dead AC i really couldn't wait through the summer and as such I bought this...
2012, so it has sat-nav and BT standard along with the nicer gloss diamond trim. It feels like enough of a step up from the Polo and saved quite a bit of money in the process.
I was in a similar situation (having to wait for the new Octavia Ambition Plus) ended up buying a Superb Elegance with 8k on the clock. Saved a good amount as well.

LOLing at the number of people jumping into a used Skoda because of excessive new car wait times. imagine all the mods you can pay for with the $10k-$15k saved....
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

Personally if I was sick of waiting for the exact spec and/or needed a car sooner, I'd get the dealer to source a suitable car from stock already in the country/on the boat.
The other option is to get a lower spec car and have the dealer add the options when they are available (if it's things like reverse cameras etc).
