19 x 9 Rear Will it Fit?

As the title suggests I had a search through the forum but have only found examples of people running 19 x 8.5 rears, I am looking at getting a staggered set 19 x 8.5 front and 19 x 9 rear as a B'day present to myself.

wanted to know if there are going to be major scrubbing issues?

Scrubbing is a steering term - I presume you mean rubbing
It will depend on your offset, tyre size and ride height

In NSW you are not allowed to increase rim width by more than 1"
You may impact your insurance cover or even get defected (unlikely?)

Next problem is the tyre size, to keep the same rolling diameter you need 255/30/19
That's an odd size, may be hard to source, will cost a fair bit more than the stock tyres,
they will spray dirt down the size of the car, they almost certainly will rub

225/30/19 will give a 0.7% diameter change - will be stretched on a 9" rim (but is a legal tyre/rim match)
235/35/19 will give a 1.5% diameter change

All that stuff that Martin said & your biggest problem will be maintaining the load rating - the R36 guys had similar issues.

Probably Briskoda is a good place to ask as there are a few Brits there that have taken their mods to the outer limits. Once you go to 9" the ET has to be millimetre perfect.

I'm guessing a 19" with a 30~35 profile will need some pretty stiff tyre pressure!

I don't think even XL cuts the mustard.

A mate had an R36 and wanted to fit 19s & it couldn't be done legally & in compliance with the Australian placard which conveniently leaves 19s off it. The Euro model has 19s on the placard.

Ah I see, I will ask the Briskoda guys, I want to stance the rears (with tyre stretch).

if that falls through most likely will go through with plan B of RS4 copies (old style) in 19 x 8

You could try a consrvative width (like the 19x8s you suggest) and then get the stance using different ETs front & rear or hub spacers.

From my experience, 8" Would work well with ET45 front & ET35 rear or just get ET45 all round & 10mm spacers for the rear

But why would you want to do it ? Its not going to improve the handling on a front wheel drive and will make it impossible to rotate the tyres.

Some people aren't concerned about the practicality & just want the looks. Hence, Briskoda has several octavias with bagged suspension and one guy that took a red Octavia & vinyl wrapped it in.... RED!

While the OPs ideas aren't my cup of tea, what he wants to do isn't dangerous so I'm happy to offer suggestions on how he can achieve his goals.

Thanks I might try that, main reason I asked is the rims I want are a staggered set, I do like me some stance though.

Bike is for the track rather than the Skoda

XL is not the load rating - it's the speed rating.
I believe the octavia requires a min load rating of 89.

i just checked my (liftback) tyre placard - min load rating of 615 kg, or load index of 91.


interestingly, the build plate states an axle weight of 650 kg.
