  • I want this car!!! In this colour and with these specs!

OK, so I really want a new RS wagon in Ralyee Green with the black pack, 19" wheels and panoramic roof (plus some extra options too...)

    Just like this:

BUT Skoda Aust have said that they wont bring these into Australia! All the dealers are just disinterested in even helping too!

    My question is: WHY?????

I am willing to order it RIGHT NOW Skoda Aust...
    Anyone listening at head office????
2018 Ralyee Green RS wagon. Fully optioned.
Previous vehicles:2015 Volvo V60 Polestar (my one detour from VW/Skoda!)
2013 Platin grey RS wagon / 2012 White Polo GTI / 2009 Black 125 Tiguan

I think I might have ordered the ralleye Green too given the chance, but Race blue will have to do. Note the yellow is also no longer an option, it's all black, white, or something in between.

Love the green. I would order it also. Why cut the color options back? Does not impact parts inventory and the edgy colors provide some product differentiation. The red skoda has is nice also.

Call my brother at Newcastle Skoda tomorrow. IF there is any way that this spec can be ordered then he will do it for you.

I can support that. In a world of lazy, incompetent and rude salespeople - Mitchell is at the polar opposite of the spectrum. Never before have I seen such a punctual approach to selling a Skoda!

Even though I have a dealership about 300m from where I live, I have no issues travelling ~200km to get my car through Newcastle Skoda.

The green goes well with the red callipers and black pack

Wish I knew the answer. I can understand them not bringing in colours and specifications which don't sell and have to be discounted to clear. But as a special order this risk does not exist. Its effectively telling customers to go away, we don't want your business.

Skoda NZ have 10 colours in the RS range including red, yellow and green. We get just 5 which includes 2 shades of grey and two whites. A very dull narrow choice. NZ also allows manual gearboxes on the diesel, but this too seems too hard for Skoda Australia. Try writing to Skoda Head Office and see what they say.

Is it difficult /expensive to import a car from NZ? A former neighbour of mine brought a couple of Subarus back on various trips "back home" because they were a fair bit cheaper there.

I've argued this before with the Golfs. So long as it's easy enough to slot the order into the production schedule and the buyer is willing to pay an extra deposit to cover the order risk of the color then within reason the order should be capable of being organised.

FWIW I think the green is cool, but I don't think I could order it at the end of the day because it would be a tough sell down the track.. although that may not be relevant in some people's buying decision.

Better looking in the wagon I'd think.

How did you end up going with Nepean?
Also might be worth asking them if they can do a TDI manual vRS as well!... I'd be up for that

Manual TSI would be trickier I imagine, since it hasn't been ADR'd and tested for fuel consumption/emissions etc.

Colour is just a code in the options list.

Unlike Skoda Aus, Skoda NZ are not controlled by VW, so they get to choose what bells & whistles nz customers can have.
Even look at their mk2 vRS - its loaded.
                              Lucky them......
