  • Diverter Valve Replacements

    Hey guys,

Quick heads up, MRT Performance is having a sale on it's gfb dv+ on eBay.

Price is $126.55 delivered. RRP is $149 and I think gfb was charging $12 delivery on top if purchased off their site.

I've just ordered mine. Seems like a decent bit of kit as reviewed by Lucas on vwgolf.net

Received it, tried to install it, no go. When they installed my forge spacer they went so crazy on the bolts they just will not budge. The actual Allen head flew off somewhere under there too, no idea where.

Off to get a hoist on Thursday and get this thing done. Alternatively, might give Arthur from exoticar a call tomorrow and pop by after work lol

Nope, forge spacer is coming off. This is more of an uprated diverter valve.

                Reports?

Not really sure if I need one of these or not or what it will do for me.... I keep thinking that maybe my OEM one might be getting a lazy spring after 130,000km...

Thanks for the link to the discounted DV+.

I've got of these in my Golf R and rate it - holds boost better and no needs to worry about leaks. Have just bought another for my GTI.

Here is a link to a thread i started for this product last year incase anyone is interested: http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread....e-using-it-yet

I got mine from the MRT ebay page but it was sent from GFB's warehouse in Sydney directly.

Mines installed, been in for about a week or so now? Can't fault it, great bit of kit. Cost me $50 to install, the original bolts were on so tight it took them awhile to get off. Noise is good, it has actually quietened down my volant intake, no longer getting very audible spooling noise, just a subtle puff if that makes sense...

It would be interesting to see how big a concern they are now. When I bought a lightweight pulley set off them for the Liberty I picked it up direct from the machine shop in Sydenham (?) & met the designer. GFB was a side business to a larger machine shop at the time.

It was the first 2.5L Liberty that they'd done & we weren't sure about fitment of the alternator pulley so I changed it on the driveway so he could check.

It's interesting what was popular on Subarus that doesn't seem to have passed over to VAG. Lightweight pulleys & earthing kits were almost mandatory on the Subarus.

I finally got around to fitting this yesterday.

I haven't had a chance to drive the car, so can not comment on what difference it makes.

Fitting was easy, it took 30mins (tops) plus whatever it took me to jack the front up & put it on a stand.

Access was really easy. The only tool you need is a 5mm allen key.

Strangely I apparently have the Rev C OEM diverter valve on my 2012 TSI Octavia vRS. I thought these later model vRS's came out with Rev D, but apparently not? Does anyone know if the GFB DV+ will fit on the Rev C? The instructions on the GFB website only show the Rev D and Rev G OEM DV's, however as per Lucas' link above, the picture on the first page states it fits Rev C? Apparently the OEM Rev C DV is smaller than Rev D and G?

I've emailed GFB and asked them but as yet no response.
