That's the point about VW/TSI oil consumption that I don't like - the variable nature of VW/TSI oil consumption which creates quality control concernsOriginally posted by brad View PostI'm not saying that oil burning is OK - mine uses maybe 400ml in 15,000km so some of them are as tight as a fishes bum.

Years ago Fiat/Lancia defended oil consumption (which was a fraction of my VW/TSI oil consumption) saying that the final compression barrier is hydraulic, hence some oil consumption can be acceptable

Back then I did a number of Fiat engine rebuilds which were all successful
I helped a friend rebuild a Honda engine and that was a bit of failure
The Honda engine used very low ring to bore pressure compare to Fiat/Lancia/Alfa
The engine worked but it's power, smoothness and oil consumption were not good for a rebuilt engine2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels
