Hmmmmm, surely that hasn't happened to all on here complaining about how poorly their AC is, partic on recirc mode? And how the hell did they find that without doing at least half of the labour (6hrs) to pull the dash off and find out the issue?

I think the flapper motor not working may not be that unusual, however the wiring harness damaging it may be.

There would have error codes being generated by the aircon when they hit recirc mode, so they must have known there was a problem with that flapper motor prior to pulling the dash.

My car was in for it's 90k service in early December and I asked them to look at (and I assumed re gas) the AC as it was taking longer and longer to cool down. The upshot was an expletive laden phone call from the service tech describing his thoughts on the poor quality compressors that Skoda use and the damage that had occurred inside it and letting me know that this was not an isolated incident.
I now have a Denso compressor and the AC is probably colder than it ever has been if I want that. I can leave my car parked in direct sun all day and the AC is blowing cold air before I even get out of the car park.

Can't remember exactly but around $1100-$1200 installed and gassed and environmental levied and all that stuff. I have no idea whether thats a good or bad price and don't really care I now have a better AC system than I had to start with and a reason to claim a larger tax deduction come July.
